No like I’m fully okay with that and I don’t even love ballads unless you’re like Mariah, Whitney, Beyoncé, etc… Tate’s are actually decent and it’s not even close to the majority of the album

her ballads are GREAT (from iutticf to now), not every song that is slow = bad, although it's ironic because the opener has a lyric about being done with the sad girl persona and then a good chunk of the album contradicts it nn

expanding on what was already said about some of the songs, I lack simple knowledge on production and references but I tried my best to describe them

grave, the live performance did not do it justice, the drums are way punchier than what they made them sound like

we're not alike has a "rock" vibe but it's far from sounding like what would you do? or she's all I wanna be, let alone GUTS or any other pop-rock songs out there rn, it's a fresh take on it, one of my faves

calgrammy, beautiful melody, beautiful lyrics, starts as an acoustic ballad then in the chorus the bass and synths come in, super atmospheric

guilty conscience sounds like a Konvict production from 2009, in the best way possible

want that too, very lowkey guitar track with a gorgeous gorgeous melody, in the bridge there's a distorted (and not punchy at all) drum pattern which makes the whole song

deadbeat town = plastic palm trees, starts as an acoustic guitar driven ballad, then in the chorus a very minimalistic distorted synth comes in, went from a skip to becoming my fav
