Is Crash Bandicoot a legend?

Hey. Crash Bandicoot debuted in the mid 90s and quickly became one of Sony's top acts. With multiple releases to scan over 5 million sales each, Crash dominated the 90s. In the 2000s he faced management issues and several reinventions that didn't help his brand, and so he went on hiatus for almost a decade. He returned in 2017 with "N. Sane Trilogy (Crash's Version)" which has been certified diamond for over 10 million copies sold. His follow up relases are rather humble, and included multiple collaborations with fellow 90s contemporary Spyro the Dragon.

However, Crash Bandicoot is still known and left his mark on the video game landscape.

Is it safe to say Crash Bandicoot is a Main Video Games Boi and a legend?

Yes, my first fave I fear

I'm a Crash stan but no, he doesn't have the range, the demand, and most of his legacy has a giant stain on it.

Crash 4 doesn't erase the human rights violations that were those mutant games. :coffee2:

I’ll give him Icon but no Legend status im sorry

I feel like not making any original Crash games during the whole of the 2010s really harmed his legacy. Same for Spyro tbh. Remastering the old games after like 10 years of nothing was a weird idea too. At least they did finally end up making Crash 4

Yes tbh, because of Crash Team Racing and Nitro Kart.  The way they were neck and neck with Mario Kart 64 and Double Dash only for the franchise to completely fall apart while Mario Kart grew to exponential levels :weeps:

If Wrath of Cortex didn't happen, Nitro Kart would have done so much better.

Icon, but not a legend.

A legend to me would be someone like Lara Croft or Mario and Link from the Nintendo games.

Oh absolutely

I think he’s an icon of his time but he didn’t transcend generations the way legends do. Mario, Zelda, and Pokémon are video game legends.

A 90's icon? sure, a legend? He's not Spyro :sorry:

Babe they were dragging Spyro by the horns for being a “legacy act” in the other thread
