It’s really easy for us to judge her when we’re not the ones who were forced to in our adulthood try to come to terms with the facts of who our father really was vs who we were raised to believe he was. It isn’t easy to hear the stories of who Elvis was behind closed doors and reckon with the fact that that man is who your father was when you were brought up to view him as an infallible god. She never knew him long enough to find that out first hand.
