LanaXtinaFan Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Her team is doing absolutely nothing to secure the Hot 100 top 10. It’s clear where their priorities are, being the UK. Totally understandable. But a hot 100 top 10 debut would be quite an accomplishment for her and her career.

Kevin is more than capable of that. The outro for Houdini is an example of what he can do more expansively in other songs and his production for his ex Melody from Melody’s Echo Chamber is out of this world in pure euphoria. I trust him. By the tone of the synths, the focus on the lower end in comparison to the songs in FN, and the subject matter, it’s pretty clear Dua was going for a different mood than the stuff from FN… it makes zero sense to have the same people that focus on the higher end of a song to produce this type of music. She’s been flirting with other references and the end of Houdini even winks to french house classics like Daft Punk and Justice. We haven’t seen yet her whole vision for this project and why these people were the right fit for it and not previous collaborators. It’s a bit too early for Nostalgia for her other project, focus on the future This is a great take
unclefloprry Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 The amount of praise this song is receiving thanks to the production, it seems like DL3 is in good hands. 15 minutes ago, shark_heather said: I cannot even imagine the slayage her next tour will be Be the one New Rules Electricity One Kiss Dont Start Now Physical Break my heart Hallucinate Levitating Love Again Cold Heart Dance The Night Plus the new album , plus maybe 1-2 surprises... its going to be a bloodbath I hope we get to hear Thinkin bout you or Blow Your Mind or Kiss and make Up as one of the surprises Her shows were some of my favorite concerts of my life for that reason, it was hit after hit after hit. A live Dua Lipa's party. but I hope that on the next tour she sings more songs, a 1:45 long show is not enough.

Stream harder Yeah true but tbh i prefer longevity and slow and steady rise than a 2st week peak then a few weeks everyone doing tiktoks and 3 months later nobody remembers the song

KatyPrismSpirit Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Ngl a #1 debut in the UK and a top 10 debut in the US would really be a pleasant surprise.
Ivan_brit Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Ohhhh is not that close as I tought at the UK 1 The Beatles - Now and Then (14,843) 2 Jack Harlow - Lovin On Me (14,660) * 3 Dua Lipa - Houdini (12,405) * 4 Cassö, Raye & D-Block Europe - Prada (12,046) 5 Tate McRae - Greedy (9,952)

SpaceOddity Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Rooting hard for this, no other popstar apart from Taylor S is giving us pure pop on the charts. I do think momentum could've been bigger if there was more time between Dance The Night and this but still, I'm hoping this does some damage, hate the fact that this kind of pop has become too niche to sell nowadays.
Apostolis Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 its okay shes gonna repeak next week i trust the sleeper hit princess

anti-bitch Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 I think it's kinda pointless to make music videos these days because music fans don't use Youtube any longer. The views are so low. Some kinda visualizers for Tiktok and IG are enough.

YouTube is still a big platform in Latin America and Asia, and she has a cute fan base at least in Latinamerica. That's why her videos have "good views" compared to other Western acts. 6

But it affects Dua too. The Dance The Night video has got 122M views now. Some years ago it could have been at 500M views by now. And it might take Houdini months to reach 100M views also. And yes, those are great numbers compared to almost everyone else these days. I just wonder how low views gotta get before labels stop putting money in music videos. And Latin and Asian fans are moving away from Youtube as well, but at slower pace.
