DSN was much more stable, I see. But there was more hype around Houdini so I feel like the drops are normal.

Houdini is good but i pray that the album has a different sound to this. It’s just not my cup of tea. When i first heard it, it gave me Not My Problem vibes and the big problem is the production (it’s too noisy). Fingers crossed this is the Dua’s Focus and the next single is Dua’s equivalent to Dangerous Woman  

 

Kevin Parker’s production actually saved the song. Hopefully the rest of the album doesn’t feature that PC Music producer Danny L Harle  

Well, now i’m a bit worried. Please tell me she didn’t scrap the sessions she had with Ian Kirkpatrick, Jeff Bhasker, Andrew Watt, Jason Evigan cuz that would be a huge mess

She worked with Jeff Bhasker and Andrew Wyatt alongside Danny in other tracks. It's probably going to have something with Ian as well, but Danny probably have credits in all tracks...

The production is the most interesting part of Houdini. Danny is a way better producer than Ian. He’s behind a lot of Polachek’s and Rae Jepsen’s songs that I’m sure Dua kept up. Ian could only dream of a production as good as this:

 

 

It’s detailed and groovy af, lacking the usual compressed trebled sound most mainstream pop is drowned in. Caroline’s album is nominated for a grammy for best engineering because her stuff sounds better than 95% of pop girls out there lol It’s not noisy at all
