She did that :clap3:

But it is quite hilarious that she tricked her base into thinking these albums are gifts or something exclusive when in actuality it’s her begging for money. “Hey guys, I signed a bad deal and I can’t profit off my music. Buy these same albums so I can be more rich” :rip:

Musicians aren't working for free? Jail them!

It will never stop being funny when ATRLers try to drag an artist for releasing music

… who the hell do you think she is “tricking” here? She wants the rights to profit off of her own music. She’s been clear about that since the start of this, and we’re all very aware of that. :dies:

Working on an album is extra work + she has a label and collaborators involved? :dies:

Can someone do the math of how much she’s sold on debut weeks only? Probably above 10 million and way above entire discographies.

40k+592k+1047k+1208k+1287k+1238k+867k+846K+329k+291k+605k+1578k+716k = 10.644M before 1989TV :ryan3:

"omg I'm so smart, I think artists should make art for free, because I myself can make art just as well they can, but I don't want to because I don't have to. You guys are gullible and I'm not, go educate yourselves"

The thing is, there are a lot of fans who don’t listen to her stolen versions. Me included. I have been playing 1989 TV like it’s a new album and I know lots of locals who have been doing the same, so I’m not surprised the streams are massive . I’m patiently waiting for Reputation and Self Titled. Haven’t played any songs from those albums since she announced the TVs. I’m sure streams for those will be equally gigantic.

The fact that this is a re-release in a climate where anything above 100K is a huge success :jonny:

You would think the way you all find clues regarding her music, you would think you understand what context clues is :dies:

That girl said “I f-ed up so instead of working out something or finding other ways to garner profit, I’m going to make these people buy the same s*** twice so I get more rich. Oh, and I’m going to charge you a leg and an arm to see me on tour too. But I’m going to add in the scraps that weren’t good enough to put on the albums and a photoshoot, so that it can seem more personable to the fans”

I love it :WAP: I want her to do a Masterclass on the business side of Taylor Swift - the brand, because it’s incredible

Or maybe you're just the one who doesn't understand how important owning her music is to her, not sure how working on different music would solve the issue :skull:

It's ~11.5M not counting her debut and using 1.5M flat for 1989 TV

Absolutely fantastic, she truly is one of kind and this is well deserved. Hardest working woman in the industry

1 Million for a re-recording is crazy enough but the fact that it’s higher than the original’s first week sales is just :deadbanana4:

Why you going back and forth with me? It’s not an argument hun. Of course it is important to her. It brings in the dollars. I just find it hilarious and genius how she has positioned it and once you stand back and look at it, you’re like “ohhhhh”.

Her team is incredibly smart

I wouldn’t be surprised if her next album debuts with 2 Million at this point.
