Nefertiti0 Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 (edited) Lizzo’s legal team received signed declarations from 18 of her staffers who dispute the claims made in a lawsuit filed by three of her ex-dancers - Arianna Davis, Noelle Rodriguez and Crystal Williams. Lizzo’s motion includes 18 written declarations from Lizzo staffers — including former dancers, band members, and tour managers — which support the singer, including defenses against allegations of body-shaming, racism or other forms of harassment during touring with Lizzo. “Plaintiffs missed flights, arrived late and hungover to rehearsals and drunk to performances, entered into consensual sexual relationships with male crew members on tour, exhibited a rapid decline in the quality of their dancing and professionalism, and ultimately conspired to make and disseminate an unauthorized recording of a creative meeting with Lizzo and the dance cast,” reads the filing. Dancer Arianna Davis claimed that Lizzo called out her weight gain. The legal documents said that, though never explicitly stated, the questions she was asked "gave Ms Davis the impression that she needed to explain her weight gain. However, dancer Melissa Locke claims in her statement, “Having worked with Lizzo for years, it is my personal belief that Lizzo would never body shame anyone, including Davis, or comment on her weight in a negative and hurtful manner.” “To the contrary, everyone on the tour was genuinely concerned about Davis, not because she had gained weight, but because she was lax about her performances, her hygiene and her health,” read a declaration from bassist Kiara Mooring, a dancer on the tour, is pushing back against claims there was an unspoken rule about facing punishment for not going out with Lizzo. She says, "This claim also makes no sense because plenty of the dancers (myself included) did not go to Bananenbar that night and we still have our job dancing with Lizzo." The new declarations also dispute the plaintiffs’ recollections about a team outing in Amsterdam in which the ex-dancers claimed they were forced to participate in inappropriate sexual acts. Drummer Michel’le Baptiste states in her declaration that she saw Davis at the bar during the night in question and the dancer allegedly “did not look uncomfortable.” Dancer Melissa Locke states that she spoke with Davis and Noelle Rodriguez the morning after Bananenbar. “They never said they felt uncomfortable or pressured,” she alleges. “They were very enthusiastic about what a great night out they had. “I remember telling them, ‘That sounds like so much fun, I wish you had woken me up to go with you.’ They agreed that it was a fun night and told me that they went out in the Red Light District after. They did not complain or sound upset in any way.” Kiara Mooring, also disputes Rodriguez’s claim that Lizzo once almost got physical with her during a heated altercation. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/lizzo-dancers-sexual-harassment-lawsuit-fabricated-dismissed-1234864708/ Edited October 27, 2023 by Nefertiti0 1

shinri Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 I really don't wanna pick any sides, but this is quite... laughable
Alex Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 non victims claiming Lizzo never victimised them… k
shinyshimmery Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 I wish there was more concrete evidence, but I don't think Lizzo would mistreat her employees. There are too many people nowadays claiming false victimhood for money.
Sharamee6 Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 Regardless, I still can't stand her, so I hope the allegations are 100% true.
AvadaKedavra Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 Multiple people have risked their whole careers to expose all lizzo wrongdoings. Kirby Kirbs Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 Why is it that every time something new about this case comes up, it just looks incredibly bad for both sides?
