She specifically said she wanted to do Amapiano x Pop (she coined it “Popiano”). She said there will be some pure R&B vibes too like “Butterflies" but she really wanted to give “Pop princess" while not losing her South African roots. I don't think she'll stick with this sound forever (just like Rihanna switched it up after Music of the Sun). But I think having a consistent vision and sound is important for new artists. Thats why so many ppl get lost in the shuffle…working with the same producers + sounding like everybody else. I just wish Epic didn't botch the rollout b/c she has potential to be huge. 2

I will say she atleast has a distinctive sound and vision for this album. That's a good thing to have in this current marketplace. She can experiment more on the next album. X~MoviePoP Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Nah she can still make songs sound different and still want that popiano sound. All the songs are wayyyy too similar.

Bussea Posted March 19 Posted March 19 I feel like this should've been dropped I really hope this doesn't hinder her, because she's a breath of fresh air

Yeah... her music videos kind of suck. If she weren't so pretty, they wouldn't be enjoyable tbh. You hate to see it. I also don't know why they waited to drop this video now considering it was filmed forever ago. You have to laugh On a positive note, less than three days til the album
KatyPrismSpirit Posted March 19 Posted March 19 hmm, wonder if this one can crack the hot 100 next week with the album dropping 2
