ATRLers into conspiracy theories. How do you feel about the "gay agenda?"

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

So as the title suggests, I'm ONLY speaking to ATRLers who are heavily invested in conspiracy theories. I believe a few conspiracy theories myself, but I'm not fully invested in that whole world of info tbh.

So what do y'all think about the the "gay agenda" conspiracy theories. It's believed by many to be an actual agenda orchestrated by the upper echelons to "confuse & corrupt" the youth & "emasculate" men. And there have been many theorists claimimg that the whole reason LGBT people have had the vigorous push we've had in the past few years, despite us being a relatively small minority, is because the elite enjoy partaking in gay sex rituals (they do straight sex rituals too, mind you, but they enjoy all alike) & dress in drag to conjure up specific spirits for specific tasks (whether good, bad or in between).

Again, plz don't shoot the messenger :toofunny2:, just wanted 2 open up this discussion to y'all who get down nto this stuff & see how y'all reconcile your sexuality w gay agenda conspiracies.

Also, there are a few vids from this "truther" youtuber that discusses this very topic. Thought maybe y'all could see where he's coming from (I don't agree w a lot of his points but I digress).

I think it's almost exactly the opposite of what's really happening. There's a years old hypothesis that homosexuality pops up as a direct biological response to the need for more caretakers for the young. Our community is skyrocketing is because late stage capitalism grindset has taken away mothers and the "gay agenda" is just because of the natural increase in our numbers. Adults that don't produce children of their own are vital to society.

I like to read and engage with conspiracy theories but most of it boils down to a mix of distrust of authority, whatever political views you have, and in extreme cases undiagnosed schizophrenia. It always says more about the conspiracy theorist than it does about the world around us. A lot of gay agenda stuff is just people projecting their own homophobia(sometimes internalized homophobia from members of our own community) outwards.:gaycat5:

the "gay agenda" has to be one of the dumbest conspiracy theories I've ever heard. B*tch men are dumb and always h*rny and gay culture isn't as niche as it used to be, Gr*ndr is being mentioned in SNL skits... gay culture is more "mainstream" so do the math that means more access for men to get their ego stroked and their d*ck sucked... there's no agenda, people are just morons.

LGBT are simply smarter, funnier and have more complex personalities so they are overrepresented in certain fields

Especially creative fields. Most str8 people have totally unremarkable lives and have nothing creative to express. They have not suffered.

Did you read the title or nah? Like let's not do this again, sis :biblio:. You can't even say this time that I'm offending you or misgendering anyone. I opened up a discussion, for a certain subset of ATRLers and you decided to show up anyway :toofunny2:

I've seen that theory with other str8 rappers when they start wearing handbags, painting their nails, and wearing women's clothes. I pay it no mind I mean peoples style changes over time and no I do not think its some gay agenda. These men are still ~publicly~ claiming to be str8 and are with women. He saying there were gay rappers that pretended to be str8 in the past, well why doesn't he name them if he is so sure? Just a conspiracy nut with nothing to back ups his claims.

Spoiler

The most recent (not so recent) conspiracy theory that I do believe in is Project Blue Beam :lakitu:

No comment on that target collaboration

Or, in redacted, you simply didn't read the OP & title. Or you did & decided to add your 2 cents anyway :isudumblmao:

girl I did read it. Oh,I see... I have to spell it out for u... what I'm saying is men are more OPEN today... they're painting their nails, trying new things sexually, wearing different kinds of clothing, etc. gay culture has become mainstream so none of these things are seen as weird like they once were.

I think my point went over your head. Sorry about your lack of comprehension.

This entire theory is very discombobulated. Who exactly is trying to “emasculate” men? The government? Surely that wouldn’t work in their favour if they need a strong military with men with more macho attitudes? I guess the ultra conspiracy theorists would go into the metaphysical and say it’s the satanic “deep state” that control everything behind the scenes, but again, why would they want more gays? To appease Satan? See this is where the theory falls for me because I don’t believe in these religious dogmas. It’s a very confused hypothesis which is peddled by homophobes because they can’t reconcile that gay people are becoming a normal part of society.

The media clearly showed the community more in the last few years because they thought society had changed but it hadn't that much. It's easy to see how some people thought this cospiracy was real because of that

And insiders are saying hollywood has realised it hasn't made them earn money and they are probably going back to more conservative ways

“I’m just asking questions!” while having sentences about satanic gay sex cults is such bottom of the barrel internet behavior, topped off with: “see how y'all reconcile your sexuality w gay agenda conspiracies.”

What is there to reconcile, these are directly homophobic attacks on the heteronormative perception that because queer people have an *ounce* more representation that before that we are planning to take over the world.

And @ImsoLOUD can I help you? Didn’t realize you caped so hard for QAnon :rip:

Not all of these conspiracy theories are about attacking the LGBT. Have you not been around when all of our faves have been accused in one way, shape or form of being in the Illuminati? Heck, even black people have had to face the brunt of BLM (as recent as 2020) being accused of being a sinister agenda to overthrow the white majority, so you can kindly calm your **** about this being an attack on you (Don't worry, I promise that you were the FURTHEST thing to pop up in my head when I made this thread) & stop overblowing things out of proportion & getting people to recieve WP & bans.

And, you're right, this is bottom-of-the-barrel internet behavior, but like it or not, this is a widely-held belief that half, if not more, of the world population takes as gospel. And a lot of us are unfortunate enough to have to cross paths with people who expat these beliefs for everyone around them to hear. Not to mention, some of us are invested in other conspiracies theories (whether you'd like to insult our intelligence or not, that's on you & I promise I won't report you for a WP if you do).

So yeah, you're not about going to get me out of here for another three months unwarranted @Headlock. Over a thread that you really didn't have any business in too at that. Got it?

You are being too generous by even explaining yourself to that 🤡:rip:

OT: I have coworkers that subscribe to those types of beliefs (we are all black). And it blows my mind because as you stated, there was similar “propaganda” spread regarding race/poc integration being a symptom of an agenda.

It’s disheartening to say the least.

If there really is a gay agenda I feel like I missed that memo :deadbanana4:

Are there a certain quota of children we're supposed to force convert to homosexuality each month?

Am I missing my invitation to the elite gay sex rituals?

I’m mad I haven’t been invited to these elite gay rituals so I can become a millionaire

The problem is that "where he's coming from" is a place of undiagnosed mental illness and a lack of education about... too many things.  These types of people don't yearn for truth, they yearn for excitement, controversy, and mystery in otherwise mundane facts.  If the truth that is presented to them is too boring, they will invent new realities that expose a "deep state" "cult rituals" and "mind control" because they're too impatient, possibly dumb, and/or motivated by fame and attention to understand basic human psychology.

The "gay agenda" is not a conspiracy, it is socially conservative reaction to society becoming more progressive and accepting to the queer community, as well as adopting queer culture into mainstream culture.  Teenage and young adult edgelords who claim to "not be homophobic" but want to "protect the traditional family" and "protect men" are basing their opinions on examples they've found that are all rooted in homophobia, fear of being considered emasculated, etc.

Yeah, I get your perspective. Trust me, I'm not 100% wrapped in the dogmatic group -think of conspiracy theories. I do believe in a few theories & I take the rest with a grain of salt. But I feel as though a subset of people out there are genuinely & earnestly looking for the truth & aren't exactly looking to frame the progress of the LGBT as a undeniable & diabolical agenda.

Not to play devils advocate, but to further explain where I believe a lot of these anti-LGBT conspiracies come from, I just feel as though a lot of these "truthers" are just baffled at how we, being such a small minority, have been able to be pushed so much to the forefront for the past decade & have progressed so much to where we are today.  So to them, it's like "Well, they must be getting some sort of backing by a powerful group of elite who get into the same type of things."

However, like someone already mentioned, perhaps LGBT people are just naturally gifted as far as creativity, intelligence & having an interesting personalities that are birthed from the struggles that we face as being a member of the LGBT in this world. So if half of Hollywood are indeed closet-cases then that could most likely explain it.

Now getting to the point of all these current male artists  wearing dresses, nail polish, etc. I do like that they're more open to exporing their feminine side, but it's a little bittersweet to me in that I don't like that most male artists aren't doing this from a genuine desire for expression & are just trend-hopping, doing it for clout or shock value. And when every A-List male celeb is wearing dresses & nail polish, as progressive as it is, it unfortunately coincides and affirms the "crossdress rite of passage" theory that a lot of theorist hold as truth.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist in any way but I do think there is some validity to it. Specifically for BIPOC.

Disclaimer: I myself am a black person who identifies as LGBT

I do believe there is some type of emasculation of black men going on and it does kind of have racist undertones. For instance I have noticed in a lot of new shows now the "token black character" has morphed into token LGBT one too. A lot of the black men that mainstream media do push on the public are either gay or lean into their femininity. Even if there is a stereotypical manly black man being marketed, they will have photoshoots of them holding flowers or what not. It feels like they deem the traditional straight black man to be something too aggressive so they have to remove the "threat" by emasculating it. It is a complex subject, that I am torn about. Obviously gay black people do deserve representation, but at the same time it seems like the "manly" straight black archetype is non-existent. It doesn't seem like there's a place for positive "manly" black men, it's either being portrayed as gangsters or effeminate.

It feels like a conservative ploy to turn people against lgbtq. I hear all the time nowadays, "i support lgb, but not the trans, drag or non binary agenda with their 300 genders"
