What Hamas did wasn't a war crime though. It was a terrorist attack. Hamas could have recruited Gazans to take back their land without any bloodshed minus the IDF. They could have reclaimed those neighboring villages without unaliving the civilians there. They didn't do that because they are a terrorist group that wants to take life.
