ATRL Moderator wehavetostan Posted October 14, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted October 14, 2023 they lied. her best is obviously folklore 1 1
PoisonedIvy Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 (edited) I can think of about six Taylor albums I’d say instead of 1989, and about 75 albums from other artists. But it’s a nice sentiment! Edited October 14, 2023 by PoisonedIvy
MidnightsAtPeace Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 I would give this title to evermore, but I guess people can always have their own favorites, which is something that happens with immaculate and legendary discographies. each album can be an "album of the century". 5
shoganai Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 It’s not, but Taylor changed modern music and the entire industry for sure.
KatyPrismSpirit Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 (edited) i mean why not? -that album is literally about to open with over a million units TWICE - its diamond eligible (13x plat+) - had three #1s - still huge streams almost 10 years later -made taylor the global icon she is today -aoty winner. only 21 adele would be more deserving of that title Edited October 14, 2023 by KatyPrismSpirit
Chartman Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 If ATRL would democratically vote the album of the 21st century, what album would come out on top most likely? 🤔
Daddy Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 For people that own One Direction records maybe... Everybody is doing entirely too much when it comes to Taylor these days. 3 1 2

Steve Johnson Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 Congrats on the 1000th Taylor thread OP
NEX Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 8 minutes ago, Daddy said: E.MO.TION. It's always that one. Have we still not matured over that? -- 21 is still the biggest album of the century. But I guess 1989 served a lot of iconic imagery that 21 just didn't and she just revived the whole era 9 years later exposing it to so many new audiences, so it's not a bad contender for the title. P.S. This is clearly not about the "best quality" album of the century
GraceRandolph Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 Here comes Vespertine with a steel chair.

But we’re not, so OP: the explanations justifying it in here are imagine releasing your mega blockbuster album twice, opening up to 1m sales both times and still not coming close to the what 21 has sold. wrhtjbtfol. 21 is absolutely this century’s defining album. its in its own league.
