This is going to start making the rounds on social media and become fact then people are going to drag her for being a capitalist pig or something :rip:

Is she gonna tour for the rest of the decade or what? That number is not realistic lol, not sure where they got that.

This Is a reach like that forbes article about the Beyoncé tour. Why americans overestimate Europe and rest of the world prices so much?. In Europe the average night price won't be 465 dollars :rip:. Not even the half of It I would say.

How do news outlets even publish these enormous miscalculations is honestly beyond me, especially as a journalist.

Poor Babson College students, they're getting ripped off. This man shouldn't teach anything business-related, to be honest - if you work in the field, half an hour of research would get you to MAX $2B.

Why is a business professor assuming that a concert promoting company (a business with the only goal of making profits) will pay her 105% of the total money they make? :deadbanana:

That, or the final gross comes out and the response is “…That’s it? We were expecting 4 billion” :rip:

I would love for it to be true but this is TMZ, hardly a credible source.

The craziest part is the idea she would get 105% of the ticket sales. That doesn't make any sense? Surely it would be much lower.

This was the funniest part for me :ahh:sir how do you teach business :rip:

This is terrible math especially from a professor :rip: She will gross 1.5-1.7bn TOPS. which is still a history making figure nobody is in a hurry to match, and she will take FAR less than that home and into her net worth especially after tax

That’s actually the least crazy part of this IMO. The numbers they used to get to $4b are all wrong, but it’s not unfathomable that Taylor and Her team could’ve negotiated for 105% (though to think She personally nets all 105% is a little silly).

Some of the top legacy touring acts like the Rolling Stones and Madonna have been reported to make 90% of the face value of ticket sales. Promoters and venues don’t make most of their money off ticket sales at the end of the day — it’s about all the money they make surrounding the ticket sales and the concert (extra fees, parking fees, food and drink, a cut of the merch sales, etc).

In theory, they could view a Taylor tour as such a gauranteed sell-out tour with so much extra income generated that it doesn’t matter if they lose money on the ticket sales. It’s sort of like selling video game consoles at a loss to push game sales.

Whether she will be getting 105% or 205% of ticket sales, Taylor Swift will be fine financially so I'm not too worried

The tour's ceiling is $1.8 billion with the most generous predictions, the movie won't cross $1 billion especially as a month long only affair, and merch sales while exorbitant won't be in the billions. They're setting her up :deadbanana4:

Have these people never looked at the list of highest grossing tours? There isn’t even a tour that has ever grossed 1B, why would there suddenly be one that grosses 4B :rip:

Also i hope no clowns come in here blaming this on Taylor’s PR when this is an independent entity peddling this BS, not Tree or anyone in Taylor’s camp

But-but-but this is PR! dO yUo eVne kNoW whAt Pr is?!? /s

OT: 4B? Yeah lol in which currency?
