Not 1989 outstreaming Witness. Congratulations, Katy! The important is album sales and SPS. A number 1 is a number 1.

Her team is tragic. Why get the album uploaded in Vevo, getting millions of views when it doesn't count for SPS? :rip:

The album tracks have 10m+ streams on youtube. And that's not counting the singles.

lol yes they are and you know it. like you can dig your head in the sand and pretend like she wouldn't sell less than 80k without the bundle but the tea is out there.

the album bombed as hard as her singles and her tour is struggling aswell. her public image has never been worse. she's universally panned.

wake up.

I think her team saw how the singles were underperforming in Spotify. They want to reach more people and YouTube is the only choice, I guess.

She had close to 300m plays on spotify before the album. That's a decent number.

Uploading the album on youtube when it doesn't count for sales it's like giving the album for free.

The YouTube streams will not go to waste though, they're still useful for certifications. The only downside is the SPS thing like you said. She's a force in YouTube too, and I guess that played a role to the album being uploaded there.

No one buys music - whether 99¢ or normal price - unless they WANT it.  I didn't DL Dead Petz cuz I didn't want it and it was FREE.  The GP obviously wanted BTW and that's why they have it in their iTunes.

And people wanted Witness which is why they redeemed their copies,

Yes because there is a huge difference between $0.99 and free

Witness is behind Lady Antebellum on iTunes now. Please, tell me how the tour bundles aren't preventing it from being one of the biggest flops of this decade :celestial5:

The label still gets the money. They don't count it towards billboard but they don't care

I'm like 100% sure youtube streams count towards album sales though

When ANTI debuted with low sales you were saying it was because she was giving Anti away for free. And now you are trying to drag copies included in expensive ticket bundles.

For RIAA. Not for Billboard.

So if ticket bundles are carrying this album, does that mean Witness is basically being carried by her core base as opposed to the GP?

Girl what kind of failed logic? Anti downloads weren't included in her first week. Katy's tour tickets bundles are. If they weren't counted then you can compare it to Anti.

I wish Lady Antebellum would get the top spot, their album is actually good.

I had the chance to hear Witness a bit and it wasn't attractive at all.

Good to see Katy's team was smart enough to use the ticket bundles tactic.

What? I was defending Katy a few pages ago.... :rip:

And there's no correlation between the Samsung giveaway and the tour bundle, they're 2 completely different things. Tour bundle is helping Katy's first week sales, Samsung giveaway sabotaged Rih's first week sales.

i mean, i think 400k people bought BTW for a dollar. So interscope made a quick lil' half million of the 99 cent tactic whereas Rih's label made zilch. :celestial2:But, that's not even taking into consideration the fact that amazon had to buy those btw copies at full price and took a loss by selling it for $1.

Pretty much every artist puts their album on youtube. Halsey did and she did 10k more in Streaming for Billboard. I think that shows what Katy would do without the tour bundles
