I was led to believe that Katy 'ended' Gaga but why is she failing to outdo Joanne numbers? She had tons of promo. Furthermore, according to the Kats she scored a hit with Chained to the Rhythm whereas Gaga didn't even have a hit during album release week.

How ****ed up.

Expand

It's been 8 months since Joanne and that was released in a better time of year for album sales. What aren't y'all getting about the "album sales dwindle over time" thing? It's not comparable.

Regardless, this is really bad for Katy. 200k should have been a minimum with the tour bundle and she's not even doing that. I'm embarrassed and sad for her but it just means she needs to ****ing step it up, yes I know she's struggling with identity issues and image and not wanting to be Katy Perry anymore but if she wants to still have a career after this tragedy she needs to woman up, grow a vagina, grow her hair back and give the people what they want again. The fact she supposedly had a major partnership with Spotify this era and is still only pulling 20k from there is laughable, with THREE singles.

Wow. And I thought BA was "smashing" on YouTube? You'd think that would add a lot to her streaming equivalents...

EDIT: Oh, I didn't realize YT doesn't count for BB200. Still, that's terribly low with 3 singles out.

Youtube doesn't count for the BB200

Katy lost to Gaga because Gaga is more talented by far.

This is fine but she should be able to grow behind the scenes without making it a spectacle. The growth in her music isn't the problem, it's the best it's ever been. If growing means cancelling her career... then grow she has.

ATRL pls :ace:

This is the normal sales these days why are yall dragging her?

No huge hits but still selling like this. This is like Joanne (Perfect Illusion was the only single when Joanne was released and we all know how hard that bombed)

Katy waited too long to release the album, if the album released in March, numbers would be amazing. Still, none of the numbers can't change the fact that the album is the best one in 2017.

The Witness predictions going down remind me of a certain era I know so well :fan:

These numbers are actually ok and would've been even respectable for Katy considering her struggle with singles during this era.

The main problem (and the reason why people are dragging/disappointed with) is because she had a huge tour bundle to help her sales. Even with this bundle, the sales aren't that big, which leaves us wondering how much she would sell without it (probably 80-100k) and that's real low for someone like her. Gaga didn't had this with Joanne, so her 200k debut was amazing and no one dragged her for it.

Also her streaming numbers are very underwhelming.

OT: I hope the prediction increases :doc:

And where are you getting 30k from? It's estimated at 20k, which seems fairly accurate looking at iTunes and Spotify

Expand

The album is doing so good on Spotify that I can't believe she will have onle 20k. Witness already has multiple tracks over 1 million plays and even 2 (songs that aren't singles)

Keep dragging Katy. Sales are going to be even lower once we get into the end or the y ear/2018.

Good luck to your faves.

But will she?

She doesn't have a hit or anything or is she one of those that sell from their base:dancehall:

Lorde will pull through, Green Light debuted with 65k sales even though it was missing the first day of sales, and she is an album artist. I just hope she is able to reach 100k units first week :dancehall:

I think she'd do at least as well as Halsey. Yes she has Closer but tbh the GP wouldn't care about her as a featuring artist and Lorde has a real fanbase.  So hopefully.

The Chainsmokers had the tour bundles too and they did 200k+

The numbers are very low for someone like Katy.
