AM98GJ Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 I always thought tour bundles only counted for first week? Thought I read that somewhere

sadnews Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 no. but most people doing in first week. that's why we always saw huge 1 week boost.

Thought I read that somewhere nope let's say you bought the ticket during the second week if you redeem it during the second week, it counts as a sale for week 2 if you redeem it during the sixth week, it counts as a sale for week 6 if you redeem it during the tenth week, it counts as a sale for week 10 etc. Edited June 12, 2017 by Duca
Ramcoro Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 I'm confused she's always been above Lady Antebellum on iTunes. I

Thought I read that somewhere No. Metallica's tour bundle were for week #16 when the album jumped from #14 to #2. http://www.billboard.com/charts/billboard-200/2017-03-25 Quote Metallica’s Hardwired… To Self-Destruct jumps from No. 14 to No. 2 on the new Billboard 200 with 81,000 units (up 191 percent) and 79,000 in album sales (up 209 percent). The gain is owed mostly to a concert ticket/album bundle sale redemption promotion with the band’s stadium tour that went on sale on Feb. 17. The trek launches on May 10 in Baltimore, Md., at M&T Bank Stadium. Redemptions of albums included with the purchase of a concert ticket register as a sale in the week the customer redeems/receives the album. Red Hot Chili Peppers was in week #16 too when they jumped from #24 to #5. http://www.billboard.com/charts/billboard-200/2016-10-22 Quote Red Hot Chili Peppers’ The Getaway zooms back into the top 10, rising from No. 24 to No. 5 with 33,000 units (up 112 percent), courtesy of sales of the album bundled with tickets to the band’s upcoming concert tour. The album sold 31,000 copies during the tracking week -- up 133 percent. The group promoted the ticket/album bundle offer through its social networks and via email blasts to fans, thus prompting the robust sales surge.
Oscar Isaac Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 That bundle saved her ass and I don't mean it in a shady way, she did what she had to do after the way her singles went.
AM98GJ Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 I seeee, well she was smart to do the bundle, I hope Gaga starts doing it with all her albums from now on, it's the only way to keep sales somewhat respectable nowadays

They were without a doubt, but I feel like we're getting to the point where breaking 200K again will be impossible without stuff like that

Considering Katy has never been an album seller (compared to her peers) and she hasn't been as strong in her main areas (singles and radio) this era so I would say that 80k - 120k pure sales for her is really respectable.

She wasn't even a touring force until the PRISM era, if she tried to do a tour bundle back in the TD days it would have flopped.
opruh Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 So without the tour bundles, my 15k prediction is actually true.
