I'm sorry that your grandfather was displaced. my mom was smuggled out of Syria as a baby with her parents and they've left all of their belongings behind in 1960. Their escorts who carried them threw Lebanon also stole all of their jewelry and belongings. They left behind extended family and a home. This happened because they were Jewish in secret, and my grandfather was jailed when they found out he was practicing Judism. It is not a blame game. Years have passed and the reality is that Israel exists. It is a country with its political issues and it isn't perfect but it exists. And in 2023 this isn't going to change and it's better to move forward accepting that this is the reality. Gaza is its own land with its own authority that neglets its people and their living conditions in the name of Allah, while being backed by bigger more established radical Islamic countries. I've lived here all my life and proudly served the IDF and the treatment of Palestinians is far from perfect but it is definitely not what you present, nor is it a mass genocide or ethnic cleansing. Buzzwords exist but they do not apply here, not anymore in our present day lifetimes. I'd let you challenge that I am brainwashed but the facts and what I've seen with my own eyes assist me in standing my ground proudly. If you are so vehemently protecting terrorism while not acknowledging that it is not the realistic and humane way to go about gaining peace and prosperity for both sides, I have nothing else to discuss with you. Based on the reactions, I realise this probably isn’t a good idea. But I get super heated when I see mention of dead kids. Whatever punishment I get, fine. Pogroms in Huwara at the start of the year. Air strikes and ground assaults on Jenin and other refugee camps throughout spring and summer. Hundreds of Palestinians murdered within the last 3 years alone and yet you seem to minimize this by demanding none of it be discussed in explaining what reality has unfolded. You arguing that today is more important than the "past" of the rest of 2023 that came before it suggests some kinds of lives are worth more than others. I haven't made any kind of comment like that.
