This sounds like a hit IMO.  If not in the US, maybe in the UK and definitely in my mind. :clap3:

Love it. Sam sings a little too high but still a bop.

THIS IS SO GOOD.

It's not a "bad" song but it's definitely giving playlist filler. Not really a fan of this...

This song is a bop. I wish the final chorus was bigger because most of the song felt like a build up to something.

This is amazing! All the Sam haters can choke, unnecessary queerphobia.

I agree with her. It's cute. I like it. :clap3:

No desire to give it a second spin. Pre-chorus and chorus are catchy but it sounds clunky and I don't enjoy Sams voice on this. I prefer their voice on tracks like "How Do You Sleep?"

Why the beginning sounds identical to Wake Up by Hilary Duff? :rip:

I have to say that the production has some nice touches here and there tho. I mean, you can tell it’s still an AG production.

So, I’ve never particularly been a fan of Sam, and I don’t generally seek out their music. I checked out some of their recent album, and I disliked all of it.

However - Sam does have a good voice. Songs like Latch and La La La showcased that from the beginning. They don’t sound bad at all here, IMO. Certainly not enough to ruin what is, in my opinion, a great pop track. I think their vocals actually blend very well into the instrumentation and Charli’s own vocals. They were the right choice for this song if it was going to have a collaborator.

I wouldn’t even be mad at this as a lead single, as someone who doesn’t particularly care for Sam. Like the panic that they would ruin the song was overblown and I do have to raise some eyebrows at the whole situation. I even have to check myself; I was excited to finally get new music from her, lost all of that when it was revealed this was their collab, and here I am bopping. What was it that made me lose excitement? Why would I ever doubt Charli, who has never once let me down?

And further on the Charli side of things, I’m surprised some people aren’t liking this. It’s a pretty good balance of Crash’s straightforward pop sensibilities and the somewhat harder sounds of her hyperpop work, which is a great happy medium for her. It also shows pretty clearly she’s going to lean back into exploring those less perfectly radio-ready sounds if she says the album itself is “way harder” than this or however she phrased it.

I expected to be disappointed with this and I was completely wrong, and I’m very happy about that. I’m biased since she’s one of my three favorite artists ever, but I truly believe Charli can’t miss, and I am so excited for her next album now. I hope this is a cute little hit!

So surprised by the hate on this thread. I see this going Top 10 in the UK next week. It's a europop smash.... I can see the Balkans going nuts over this.

I don’t think it’s all “queer phobia”. A lot of us just can’t stand their voice. I have an almost full body chill that ripples through my skin when they open their mouth and “sing”.
