I worked at Hollister (owned by Abercrombie) in the mid 2000s and it wasn’t just that he didn’t “want” (what he considered) ugly people working for the company, it was actively part of our hiring practices. Even the ones deemed less attractive were sent to work stock in the back.

There a documentary about him and a&f and their job requirements that got exposed for being racist.

 

a&f has since made lots of changes since, but its really a very 90s/00s brand that won't be able to erase that image unfortunately.

 

They should have just completely changed their brand.
