This was so boring omg

I liked the overall story / setting and some moments were fun but holy **** it dragged so much. This maybe would've worked been better as a mini series, but only if it continued and develop the story more, this was barely anything.

I just finished it. It was soooo awful. 2.5 hours to get such a basic “bombshell” of a twist that an article on Medium could have more clearly communicated. You

don’t even get the thrill of seeing the chaos unfold. And the characters are all pretty flat and uninteresting.

This could have made for a good Black Mirror episode if they showed more stuff.

A simple example of how little this movie delivered:

The movie keeps hyping up the deer as a threat or an ominous figure of something bad happening. But they never do anything? They surround one of the characters in a threatening manner but then run off? They never actually try to launch an attack. Additionally, none of the characters ever really feel at risk.

It should have been like 40 minutes less

its like the director tried to have those 2 creepy-shock moments to sell the movie because he knew otherwise it was boring af

Extremely boring. Terrible pacing. Irritating characters. Barely any plot. Terrible ending.

I knew exactly where the ending was going :ahh:

Like someone said, this would work better as a 90 minute episode of Black Mirror

so boring. There were at least 5 pointless monologues. Dialogue was so unnatural. Terrible pacing. The ending is not earned

I haven’t watched this yet, but I did start my Mr. Robot re-watch 2 days ago, so let me continue watching that excellence and forget that this exists. :gayriahcat3:

That ending was dirty :bibliahh:

Glad to see Julia in a role like this after such a long time, but my goodness... The writing was annoying as hell. It felt like a higher budget version of How It Ends with more famous actors and an equally upsetting ending. Idk why How It Ends has a 17% on RT, while this has a 75% there. Kevin’s character brought nothing to the table, the teenage son was a complete prick for no reason, the  score was way too eerie for a plot that wasn’t all that sinister, etc. Straight to the garbage bin! :deadbanana4:

the ending :dies:

Spoiler

what tf was this thing trying to say :rip:

it was well made, well acted, nicely shot etc. but the script has nothing interesting to say about contemporary society

I need the ending explained.

WTF was that?

Oh watched this like 2 weeks ago, It was enjoyable cause it's current but obv missed potential since basically nothing was explained. Strong Shyamalan's The Happening vibes where it's just like... B movie where all that happened and you better feel satisfied because that's all we to have to show or explain today, and the point of not knowing what truly happened is unsatisfying in both films.

The point of us never finding out what it was precisely that made civilization collapse (of that we'll find out eventually when it actually happens IRL). Like the girl with her Friends episode is cute and funny for like 10 seconds when the movie ends. But then I'd actually like to know what happened, just nuclear fallout standard ww3? Aliens? Experiments gone wrong? We want the specifics Obama, I get it basically everything that could go wrong does so falling like a house of cards but it's how basic...

I didn't see any explanations but surely it just means

Spoiler

When society actually collapses, we won't even know what actually happened, and you can make a ton of points with the Friends episode like society is so attached to tech comforts it will probably be impossible to wean off.
As long as we get a nice bunker angh pe

d an episode of Friends, we'll be ok, or that point, but specifically regarding the youngsters' generation (the kid didn't even really care he was losing his teeth). The kids just wanted their simple lux comforts that they're used that it's not even sinking in for them that they're all going to die and what they need to worry about are necessities to survive and live.

It's all pretty weak and really just tries to be current with all the billionaires building bunkers that probably have lifetimes of entertainment in them.

It's all to drive home the now of it all and how a generation that never lived through periods in time where excessive lux, tech, and entertainment were not there the second you wanted them would deal with such a collpase, that they'll likely be beyond useless if the time comes, the little girl having to watch the Friends episode is kinda like her pacifier. At the end of the day whatever it was that happened, it would be up to the the generation of that little girl and her older brother if he survived somehow, to help rebuild society from the ashes. However, that seems unlikely to happen when they'll be more at ease living the rest of their days in that bunker with canned versions of the comforts they're used to.

That there is so much that can go wrong nowadays in unprecedented ways and when it does, you'll be as lost and looking for simple comfort as the Friends girl. But likely doomed to never even know what really happened, even if you do survive for a while.

And it's also just a generally **** you you dont get to know what actually happens like the girl did not, until the very end (of the world irl)

Anyway it's a mix of all that ig? so annoying lol

The amount of times the score intensified as if something major was about to happen and then every single time nothing did. So annoying
