Why is that account allowed to promote Kremlin-linked propagandists from RT and Grayzone that are encouraging the ongoing genocide of the Ukrainian people? Communion Posted October 2, 2023 Share Posted October 2, 2023 (edited) There are criticisms to have about the Soviet Union's policies that fluctuated between treating Judaism as either an ethnicity to be protected (Lenin literally advocating for the funding Yiddish schools and cultural hubs, for example) or a religion in a state apparatus where religion was growingly deemed divisive and at odds with the function of the state, and how such led to uncomfortable realities like the Soviet identity of Jewish Soviets being emphasized most in government documents, but Blinken for some reason seems to wish to erase that it was literally Soviet Jews within the government who pushed for further awareness and education on the Holocaust being a genocide explicitly against Jewish people. It does speak to the spectrum of damage the Cold War has caused to history in both North America and the West that you have the same people proposing the below: Ukrainian and other Baltic partisans committing mass murder and rape on their Jewish neighbors = NOT Nazism, but anti-commie freedom fighting Soviet Union incorrectly over-emphasizing Soviet suffering alongside Jewish suffering = ACTUALLY just as bad as Nazism, maybe even WORSE than Nazism The same people arguing it is the most highest crime for the Soviet Union to have internalized the deaths at Babi Yar as part of the great historical Soviet suffering are also trying to defend and downplay that the very Nazis who were doing the killing at Babi Yar were in fact Nazis.
