Bears01 Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 After many media outlets the past week reported Trump to rally with striking UAW workers, it instead turns out that trump is holding a rally at a non union business organized by notorious union busting “right to work” leaders
GhostBox Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 I’m not surprised.💀 luckily I’ve seen some videos from the striking workers and they aren’t being fooled by trumps “speech” stunt.
Aston Martin Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Isn't half his appeal being "the voice of the everyday American that has been stifled by the DC elite" (despite being a nepo-baby "billionaire")? 2 2
qurl Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 the way even liberal outlets like CNN and MSNBC were initially saying he was going in solidarity with union workers before they had to course correct and reverse those statements ….. they still ain’t learned $h!t since 2015 1

His initial appeal in 2016 was fake populism. Stuff that some democrats have actually done at the state level, and at least marginally on the federal level (having Medicare negotiate drug costs, cracking down on tax cheats through the IRS). Supporting Right to Work is the EXACT opposite of populism
Breathe On Moi Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 just sweaty and greasy and fat 1 1
ClashAndBurn Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Trump has never been pro-worker, but honestly Biden's record isn't too good either. They both say a lot of things, but their actions have involved a lot of union-busting activity and policies that favor the rich robber barons over the working class.

I think Jeff Stein put it nicely: Biden’s no FDR, but his record on labor is still significantly better that trump. In 2019 I had to go to my union hall and write a letter to the DOL to ask them not to defund apprenticeships because of the policies they were trying to enact 3 1
loveisdead9582 Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 Surprise surprise. Biden is no saint but he’s certainly better than Dump.
Frappucino Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 Ironic considering his right to have any kind of job should be revoked
FameFatale Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 Of course. All for show so the right wing media can spin it and say he was there for union workers instead of debating...when that wasn't even the case. His base won't even research it.

If U Seek Amy Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 I live in Ohio and Ohio union workers seem to be different from a lot of the rest of the Midwest union workers (much more conservative) and they will still find some way in their head to justify this but demand the benefits of their unions So many fall for any right wing propaganda that they are better for their unions somehow (despite wanting them demolished asap). It is so sad. Like yeah Biden isn't great but you won't even have a union if you let it go the other way around. It is sad this crap works on some 1
Sannie Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 He and his team are so ******* dumb. Union workers are a big part of PA, MI, MN, and WI's voting blocs and you need a combination of those states to win the election. Those states have been trending blue and Biden won them all in 2020. He really sealed his fate with this, especially since Biden took his decrepit ass and actually visited the picket line to show support.

Yeah, I was not buying it when everyone reported he would go to support the union.
