Letemtalk Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 Most streamed female album of 2013, still sounds great. Changed music Quote Rodrigo would rather be seen as a singer-songwriter than a pop star. When we discuss her idols, she mentions the impact Lorde had on her as a child. “I remember hearing ‘Royals’ on the radio,” she says. “I was like, ‘Wow, you can make a song about anything that you’re feeling.’ It doesn’t have to be this breakup song. She wrote an album about what it was like to be 15 in the suburbs and feeling lost” — a theme that resonated with Rodrigo, who was 10 years old living in the quiet town of Temecula, California, at the time. Pure Heroine was made by just just two people, until they sent it to the mastering engineer, with Joel Little doing the mixing as well as co-writing, producing and being the recording engineer. Quote Joel Little, the producer of “Pure Heroine”, via Instagram. “10 years ago today Pure Heroine came out and changed my life forever” He also stated that he and Lorde had a big chat for her mailing list — which is supposed to come out soon. #10YearsOfPureHeroine Spoiler https://twitter.com/Lorde_fix/status/1706967001204473879 https://twitter.com/Lorde_fix/status/1706987320015266008 https://twitter.com/LordeUpdatesBR/status/1706965856918401094 2

Achilles. Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 (edited) The way Melodrama attained such a status that too many people sleep on the fact that Pure Heroine is also an impeccable culture-shifting generation-defining indie-pop masterpiece. Nobody’s ever touching that one-two punch I believe. Only THEE Lorde. Edited September 27, 2023 by Achilles. 1
