I know it affected my dad quite heavily being the only one of 4 brothers who was, and he was very against it happening to me or my brother. Its 2023, we can feel for anyone of any gender being mutilated without it being “well X has it so much worse than Y so X is invalid”. Men can be victims, but comparing it to girls getting their clitoris cut off, making sex intensely painful and impossible to derive pleasure from is not the same as missing a little bit of skin. Circumcised men are more than capable of having sex comfortably and pleasurably - that’s why I find the comparison ridiculous. By trying to equate the two, it sounds like men are trying to drown out the experience and pain of women in cultures where female genital mutilation is common. 4 2 1
Namie-Knowles Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 As someone who is very loosely cut myself and someone who likes both equally I honestly do believe that being circumcised should be a choice. That an informed adult should make on their own. Consent for permanent and life altering cosmetic procedures is absolutely necessary. If people want to get circumcised that is fine but it should be their choice no one elses. The same way we would collectively bash a woman if they gave their five year old temporary lip fillers. That sounds insane and the fact of the matter is, it is insane. But less insane than circumcision because the fillers would fade. So putting that into perspective I just think men should be asked at the age of 18 if they would want to move forward with it (barring things like phimosis etc) 1

If you don’t, you don’t. Being cut isn’t going to be any less or more hygienic if you haven’t had a wash prior. I’m glad you’re happy and whatever but it’s still a choice you should be allowed to make vs decided for you. I agree about cleanliness, the difference seems to be it only takes 30 seconds to wash a cut ***** and it will still smell and look clean in the evening , unfortunately I cannot say the same about uncut I have experienced, despite being otherwise clean and well kept, sweat and or smegma buildup throughout the day must cause a smell and oiliness that is not great. Maybe they need to shower multiple times a day or only have sex after a shower. I am beyond grateful the choice was made for me when it was, there just seems to be more complications and issues with uncut over cut. 2 1 1

By trying to equate the two, it sounds like men are trying to drown out the experience and pain of women in cultures where female genital mutilation is common. It’s not a competition Both forms are genital mutilation, and we’ve normalised lube so much that we forget men are naturally lubricated & that sex for men can also be very painful if they don’t use alternative lubricant. Yes, what happens to women is awful, and I feel terrible for those who have been affected. But the moral of the story is humans need to leave the genitals of someone else the **** alone regardless of gender unless the person is able to provide consent. It’s very weird we still have these practices when they were born from a time where humans didn’t know better 6 1
PixelStick Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 (edited) I had phimosis until I was 11 or twelve, It was the most embarrassing thing ever when I found out what i had via the internet. I didn’t want to see a doctor but after hot baths and stretching it slowly loosened and was basically normal for by time I was a teen. maybe it would have gotten worse had I not do something about it but thank GOD I didn’t get circumcised. It’s rarely needed and from what I read it dampens sensitivity a lot, just my 2 cents lol remember to wash your dick Edited September 28, 2023 by PixelStick 3

La Reina Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 ATRL having such staunch circumcision defenders is super weird. Not surprised, though. After that anti-surrogacy thread a few months back, I've come to the conclusion that many people who use this website are completely unhinged. Anyways, that guy really wasted his own money and time for nothing.

Enrique523 Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 I find it mindblowing the number of people in here defending circumcision in the name of "it's the norm, it's always been like this". What kind of f*cked up right wing mindset is that? Since when "the norm" can be considered a valid argument for anything? 5 1

Not once. I will however find mobs of people who make posts and videos about it on social media... Like someone said above, there's a grandstanding narrative on social media and it's not based on evidence. Try again! Why are you so nasty, seriously? You seem to have this weird hate against uncut people, based on some of the posts you liked in this very thread. Also, why do you pretend people practice circumcision based on science? The overwhelming majority are doing it based on anti-s*x religious beliefs so using "science" to defend those people is beyond weird. Circumcision is NOT healthcare and never has been, it's just religious lunacy, like most things in America. The same kind of peple doing it to their kids will preach again and again about how evil s*x is. 6
