Aethereal Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Taylor has definitely unlocked the pre-Internet star power that likes of Elvis, MJ, Madonna and the Beatles had. Not on the same level globally but still. 1

It’s too public and too overexposed I’m glad the season is over so we can hear more about the album and not about her and travis I’m a fan and annoyed, can’t imagine how other people are just hearing about the same thing over and over I fear it ain't over. If they get engaged it will make huge headlines. The wedding will surely be the wedding of the century. If she gets pregnant wheeww lord

Long breaks hurt people's careers more often than help them. Artists also get addicted to the long break once they get a taste of it. Part of why she's so hot rn is how consistently she releases - why break what isn't broken? I do think after she drops this new album, wraps up the Eras tour in Nov, and drops the last 2 new TVs (who knows if she is dropping these in 2024 at this point), she should "lay low" for just a couple months, like 6 at most. Then come back. She does feel all consuming rn. You can't get away from her. Anytime she announces anything, my entire IG is a re-sharing of exactly what she posted. People are constantly referencing her. I do feel you on that. 6 months away would do her good, but she doesn't need to bother with more than that. You'd be surprised how quickly it can feel like someone's been gone for a long time in just 6 months. I get that and there is validity and truth to that argument but Taylor might be the exception. She’s so incredibly famous and ubiquitous that the impact a break would have on her career wouldn’t be nearly as detrimental as it was for, say, Lorde. If anything, it would allow some breathing room to get some people off her back and then when she returned, less people would be rolling their eyes and more people would be excited (not that many people aren’t excited about her constant releasing). I respect how prolific Taylor is and she clearly enjoys making music, I just do think she’s a bit too overexposed rn and it’s not the music. It’s the celebrity. She’s everywhere and people are tired of it and I can’t really blame them.

But The past month specifically has made me completely sick of her. Maybe she's overworked, but she rubbed a lot of people the wrong way at the Grammys by treating the whole thing like a f*cking meet and greet, and now she's THE cover image for the Superbowl results this year with that picture of her kissing Kelce on every paper. Imagine how fans of the game feel, or even the actual athletes who are seeing all the attention and credit go to their teammate's girlfriend The same group of 10 Swifties will dogpile my reply and downvote as soon as I hit submit, and they'll quote me with the usual lines etc... but more and more people are starting to get sick of her bullsh*t and they better be prepared for the backlash cuz it's gonna hurt Yep. It’s not a dig to Taylor, either. She’s prolific and talented and has a phenomenal work ethic. She might also be slightly obsessed with the constant attention. That doesn’t make her bad either, but it will inevitably backfire. People are generally over celebrity culture. We all love the entertainment of it all, but when one person is the topic of conversation literally everywhere you turn and they can’t be escaped, that is annoying and it’s unnecessary. It doesn’t matter who it is, nobody is deserving of this much constant attention, good or bad. I was really starting to like Taylor before Midnights but ever since, it’s like she’s the second coming of Christ and it makes it hard to enjoy the music because her celebrity kind of taints it, at least for me. 2

She hasn’t really done anything attention whoring recently honestly The Grammys thing, yeah she is out of touch, but there is no malice or attention seeking She is a mastermind for marketing but ever since Midnights everything has been spiraling out of control, she is not really doing anything to put her brand out there other than releasing music and touring The girl is just living her life but these days she gets headlines for breathing She needs to dissappear after her new album and the last TVs Cause her current level of fame is really dangerous Edited February 13 by Trent W

I don’t see any malice in anything she’s doing. I’m just saying that if she doesn’t take a break soon (at least from major public appearances), the GP will get sick of her and it’s already happening since The Grammys and then the Super Bowl. Taylor’s music is so big that she could go into hiding for 5 years and she’d still feel so ubiquitous. Just look at Rihanna and how big her music is despite how little we see of her and she’s nowhere near as big as Taylor is right now.
shimind Posted February 13 Posted February 13 She has released so much in the last 5-7 years. Definitely needs to go on a long break. I havent even properly listened her albums except lover and midnights and now she has another one. In the end, quality singles matter. She should focus on making more hit songs now which the gp will remember 20 years from now. Most people are still stuck with love story, blank space etc

Maroonx Posted February 13 Posted February 13 I love how people are acting surprised overseas tabloids are focusing on Taylor/Travis instead of the AMERICAN FOOTBALL game. Nobody gives a **** about American football outside the US/Canada, so naturally the focus will be on a celebrity.

Yall just want her to be less popular, that doesn’t mean she is secretly evil or overexposed right now. Edited February 13 by PoisonedIvy 3 1
