Kingdom Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 https://hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=337686&title=DOJA-ZACH-TECCA-LEAD-NEW-RELEASES-PLUS-A-RODRIGO-RETURN I find it very interesting that monthly listeners of so many artists gets discussed here almost as a sign of interest in whatever music the artist is making. But there are certain artists with way less than doja's ML that did way better than her, (some without even really trying) So what does that mean? 1
Popular Post Baby Judas Posted September 23, 2023 Popular Post Posted September 23, 2023 She’s the perfect definition of “no one gives a **** about her outside of tiktok”. Like, you can’t name a Doja hit that wasn’t carried by tiktok. She’s lucky tiktok picked up PTTR. And hopefully tiktok will also pick up Agora.. 15 2 1
Monster Queen Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 A huge hit can get you 30 million monthly listeners, or even more, we have seen this before from Miley. And only like 5% of these casual listeners will check your album

What I found interesting is that her song somehow magically goes "viral" just when one of the songs starts to slow down or underperform. The timing of Get Into It and PTTR going viral was indeed very convenient for her. 5 1 1
Taylena Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 (edited) Spotify's monthly listeners is a useless success metric and it means nothing much really. If you have massive payola and your music is in all the playlists then there's a bigger chance that someone will randomly play your song but that doesn't mean that person is interested in your music or that they'll ever again play a song of yours. If Spotify made it in a way that one person is only counted for an artist's monthly listeners after they contribute with like a minimum of 5 streams to different songs, in a month, then maybe that would mean something. favorite crime Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 It's kind of sad that after 8(?) huge hits she still doesnt have a base or organic interest in her music

Stepfon Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 This is why every time the girls do these “broke Spotify listeners/ records” threads I cackle because the SALES always tell the real story, I tried to tell the girls and you all wouldn’t listen.
Dula Peep Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 She’s delivering 10x more than the other pop gurls in the music, looks, concepts, & especially videos this era so this is very sad to see if true… maybe talent doesn’t always win. 5 1
FolkLover1989 Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Because Spotify listener metrics is total waste and useless It's all about playlisting and not about popularity
istan4badgalriri Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 She literally has the #1 song on Spotify global right now plus a bunch hits in the streaming era, that's why she has that many listeners. Like where's the correlation between Spotify monthly listeners (worldwide) and U.S. first week sales debut ? 4 1 1

PH’s numbers were carried by the massive hits. PTRR and potentially AH are the only hits this album is going to have. 1
lillavend3r Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 You think those 70 million are all American? 7
Feanor Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 1. Those are global numbers. 2. Monthly listeners aren't really indicative of organic GP interest, as we sadly see with Doja. 1

Why are you comparing a global stat about playlisting on a streaming service with a local chart of one country?
Revolution Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 she has a hit song. but usually fanbase streams albums first week but she said she hates her fans or something.
Relampago. Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Because she has a lasting catalogue of hits and doesn’t need a new album release to maintain relevancy
naval23 Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 She thought she didn't need fans. GP non-fans loved PTTR and she thought those were fans She's lucky PTTR is a smash bc the debut would've been tragic otherwise 1
bijonse Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Rihanna of her generation, a lot of people are casually into her but don’t REALLY **** with her to stream a whole album and she does that to herself by telling her fans that she don’t really like them/they’re losers etc. so we don’t feel bad for her flopping 2 1 1
Bey_Rihstan Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 The way Nicki (who’s also gonna underperform) is gonna out do all the rap girls first weeks fhhfjcjc

Rihanna had a Billboard 200 Top 2 debut 2 years into her career (GGGB) and the US wasn't her strongest market.

They throw everything on the wall to see what sticks with her.
Laura Palmer Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 It feels like ya’ll counted her out with PH too… and look how that ended! She’s a TikTok darling, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she grabbed another viral hit. Ya’ll should know by now she’s playing the long game. 1
Harsh2256 Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Queen week 3: 64k BMUS: 80k ------------ Scarlet: 58k But i thought doja outdid/replaced Nicki Minaj.
