September 21 on Spotify:

Smile 707k

Chromatica 684k

In 2020 Smile was undeniably less popular than Chromatica that had a large Billboard debut, number 1 and top 5 singles where as Smile was more of a lowkey era with a modest launch. But as of today Smile seems to have won the long game as it receives more streams than Chromatica on Spotify. Did talent win?

What's the source for that chart? I wanna see what some other albums are doing.

Considering “Chromatica” had “Rain On Me”, this is high-key embarrassing.

They shouldn’t even be in competition and yet…

That’s honestly embarrassing considering one album has Ariana Grande, Elton John and BLACKPINK collabs :deadbanana4::deadbanana4::deadbanana4:

Harley's in Hawaii going viral on TikTok yet again, does not mean that suddenly Smile is a bigger era than Chromatica :skull:

They shouldn’t. It’s correct, the promo excuse from monsters is also lame.

Chromatica is very much Gaga’s ‘witness’ 2 collabs ( all of witness was collab on TTH) 3 minute made for streaming tracks etc. it’s just no one is buying 2010s euro tea in streaming era from 30+ year old women - it ages like MILK. Smile isn’t dance and Harley’s is viral.

Rena is successful cause of its contemporary execution - but even I believe it will also have a stream dip in a couple years.

The only listenable song on chromatica is ROM and it features a big artist, there’s only so much one song can do. The rest is utter generic dogshit.

I truly hope Gaga never works with those producers and writers ever again. That **** was BAD bad and cringeworthy af. It deserves to be outperformed.

Your also saying it took 3 years for Smile to catch up to Chromatica. :skull:

Gaga won the battle but lost the war against Katy. We're aiming for longevity now.

No, didn’t Chromatica outsell smile around 10 times over?

Katycats really need something desperate to hang onto considering they know Katy doesn’t give a crap about her music career anymore and that KP6 is never coming :deadbanana2:while Gaga is thriving in Vegas and has a new blockbuster movie coming out next year

nobody has bumped a new katy perry or lady gaga song to their friends in over a decade i think the girlies on this website need to move ON from the commercial aspect of discussing this era of artists :hoetenks: and i say this as someone who loved both of their music

Shallow came out not even four years ago yet and it's one of the best selling singles of all time, she had the second best selling female album of the year four years ago, and she had an album track with over a billion streams so maybe you should have thought this post through a bit more :rip:

That's kinda embarrassing that even with the viral tiktok impact Smile is just barely above

I’d expect a number one album with a number one single featuring a streaming powerhouse and a top-five lead single to be outpacing an album that has none of the above by a mile, but maybe that’s just me!

NRO alone is better than the entirety of Chromatica, so I'm not really surprised.

For your consideration, these are other 2020 MPG albums daily streams:

Folklore: 9.3 M
Future Nostalgia: 5.1 M
Evermore: 4.6 M
Plastic hearts : 2.1 M
Positions: 2 M
The album : 1.8 M
Rare : 1.4 M

These two can’t outstream Rare even when they combine, but congrats to both I guess :giraffe:

The daily numbers here aren't broken down by the singles, but the two songs you mentioned have more total streams than the entire Smile album, so the expectations were met.
