If it's not a Dion DLC idgaf :cm:

Really tired of Cliveal Clivetasy Cliveteen, like he is a hottie and Ben Starr deserves all the accolades for his voice acting, but goddamn Clive (and Jill (and Joshua)) just can't carry this game. Dion ate them all up.

Thankfully the new '' inner voice '' thing confirms that Kihel and Terence survived at least...

The much-loved producer does leave the door slightly ajar

"Much-loved"  FF14 is slowly going into it's critically panned era and people have clocked onto the laziness that goes on with FF14. The story ever since 6.0 has been a complete joke and there is no innovation in terms of content.

I see why they gave FF16 to him since it's the safe option but he really doesn't know anything but the FF14 formula he created and it's getting kinda sad. I fully anticipate that Dawntrail will not the glorious success that Shadowbringers/Endwalker (well initially) were and might wake Yoshi P up a bit. Even though I would normally drag Nomura, at least he does take risks even if some do miss the mark.

Anyway I don't mean to be too critical of FF16 since I did love it but hope they keep FF17 away from him. Soken should be involved in all FF games going forward though, Nomura's successor

Let me praise Soken a bit

Me, too. I would love it if 17 went to a team that's more focused on deep gameplay mechanics (like FF12, Tactics) over visuals and action.  Bring back the job system, status effects, elements, playable party members, meaningful gear, rare weapons.. actual roleplaying features. It's like 16 gutted everything that made the gameplay fun.

That said, I can't wait for FF7R2

I’m probably like 25% thru 16? (Just got to Eastpool). I’m just not hooked yet at all. I’ll def finish it but I deadass think 15 had a more engaging/satisfying gameplay loop than this :skull:

Even the visuals kinda disappoint me, I’ve messed with motion blur, the different fps modes, the whole nine but the game is so muddied looking or just doesn’t feel completely right. I’m not normally one to whine about performance but it actively bothers me in this game

the cutscenes are super engaging and gorgeous and I’m intrigued with the story tho. Lowkey just wanna blow thru it so I can replay FF7R before Feb :jonny6:

FF16 is my fave :heart2:

I hope FF17 delves into fairies, witches, mushroom circles, crystals, a fairytale magic vibe.

Had a chance to play the DLC and damn that battle was a tough one! Anyway! It was a cute little DLC but I'm looking forward to The Rising Tide more since I feel it will be more engaging story wise. I was going to do a replay of the entire game this month but I think I'll just wait until then.

I finished 16 recently. Story wise I liked it and the characters are good. The biggest problem is definitely pacing and deepness of gameplay. Beginning had me gagged and obsessed. The whole mid (person) storyline needs to be deleted immediately (I legit had a two month break from the game during that part :rip:).

Also this series needs to stop sidelining women :rip:

Overall an 8/10

ending spoilers

I actually didn’t mind the ending. It’s really up to you if you think Josh or Clive lives or neither (imo Clive lives and writes the book in Josh’s name since it makes sense thematically).

I will get DLC when it’s on sale :gayriahcat3:

A leak claims if Echos is 3 hours of content, then Rising Tides is 10 hours of content

YES that is exactly the ending! Clive is alive

Idk how people misinterpreted that. Or the fact there's a lot of undertones of homosexuality in the concept of magic in the FF16 universe.

One day will write a book about this.

Yeah I’m ready for a female protagonist. We need emotion.. Clive was so monotone and Cloud…. Is Cloud.

I absolutely love the tone of FFXVI. I know there are complaints about the shift from XV to XVI but honestly it was needed.

I feel like XV could have been so much more and felt very incomplete. The time-skip was also such a disappointment.

A lot of story elements were cut out from XV. Really terrible development process, they had no idea what to do with that one. It was meant to be released as Final Fantasy Versus XIII for the PlayStation 3.

Honestly that initial trailer looked better imo. A lot changed.

I was finally able to play XV with the Royal Edition last year when I got my PS5 and was appalled it saw the light of day like that. Even in that "complete" state it was an embarrassing mess. :rip:

Very disappointing as you can clearly see the potential that could've made the game something special if the development hadn't been such a **** show.

It really was. It felt very very rushed especially when you reached the part of no return in Altissia. Anything after that point is a major mess and forgettable.

Ugh I’ve come the the conclusion that FF16 is “better” than FF15 but… I would replay FF15 over 16 any day if that makes sense :rip:

Literally this, well kind of. There are things that XV did straight up better, but yeah I share the sentiment

It’s the side content being so lifeless and boring tbh, like those MMO ass quests :rip:
