Because X has better storytelling and better gameplay. 
 

XIII trilogy is cute but it's not the serve y'all are making it to be especially when compared to xiv the by far best game in the series.

I have 16,000 hours in FF14 and felt more emotional playing FF13 trilogy than the entire FF14 story saga idk. Can't take that game seriously anymore when you kill Zodiark (the big bad baddie that I've been waiting to kill for over a decade) and then proceed to help some rabbits on the moon like you just didn't kill the sort of equivalent to a God. Plus the post Endwalker story is such a joke when they just retold FF4 story for 2 years

Apparently it sold much much worse than anticipated and is why all the classics got taken off PSN (they claim Sony sabotaged the game...somehow, and now hate Sony)
