Rigalo Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 (edited) I must have posted in a different thread but I’m playing thru FFXVI and I started off interested, began hating it, and now just beating Ch. 3 I’m seated. Spoiler The Mothercrystal was gorgeous and one of my first “next Gen” experiences I feel like I’ve had since I got my PS5 a couple of months ago. Then the Typhon battle was gaggy, CID Joshua coming to SNATCH that ugly creature I feel like I’ve seen lots of complaints about how the combat doesn’t really open up and stays the same the whole game and while I understand that, I do enjoy getting new Eikons for the ability slots to speed up fights. Album Leak Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Dawntrail is shaping up to be quite an expansion. I expected there to be some form of highly developed technology coming into play, but the cyberpunk-esque Solution 9 city hub is so far off from what I expected. I love it though. Now all the super modern casual gear won't look so out of place either lmao. Current theory is that it IS Allagan, wouldn't be too surprising. Arcadian is the name of the 8-man raid, and the concept art looks wild, more of that super highly developed technology coming into play. Kind of looks like insides of a gaming PC. Arcadian is a Greek term and the ancients have a lot of naming conventions that are Greek and much of their aesthetic is Greek as well. There's also a sigil shown that looks somewhat like Altima's. So more ancients I suppose, looking forward to it. Pictomancer looks aesthetically fun, but really the gameplay complexity will decide whether I want to main it or not. Viper is still a bit more exciting to me, because I just want swords to smack people with, and the only swords users currently are tanks (and red mage but that's not the vibe I want!). Cosmic exploration and Beastmaster both sound promising, but we'll have to hear more about them later on since they didn't share much. Cosmic exploration being suggested as a group thing (unlike the solo island sanctuary stuff) does sound good though. Field operations (Eureka, Bozja) are coming back, since a lot of people wanted that content back. I never liked it so unless the story is especially gripping I might skip that altogether. Female hrothgars look great, I wish males looked more lithe (but muscular) like the femgars, I don't like to play as big hulky male races but I still prefer more monstrous and anthropomorphic features in video games. A shame, but good for femgar enjoyers. Overall a good key note presentation. I hope the FF16 collab will have Dion content/prizes! 3
Fevesy Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I stayed up and watched the keynote and the new cyberpunk aesthetic is IT. And it’s gonna be a new player hub? Oh Limsa is finally over I fear. We need access to the market board easily though. I suspect all this aesthetic is another reflection of the source or something along those lines. I used to go hard for this game and I’m actually wanting to raid savage again cause if the new pvp gear that came out recently is any tease for what’s to come then we are in for some good raid glamours again. and Eden Ultimate got me excited. Pictomancer looked good in the first trailer but then the animations in game were kinda umm.. I’m a caster player though so she’s getting leveled pretty quick anyway. FF16 collab BETTER have Joshua’s wig. We don’t want Clive’s. - I have actually been playing FF14 for the first time since 6.0 the past 2 weeks and I’m kinda falling back in love with it again. I played from 2.5 up til 6.0 constantly and I was so burnt out. It feels weird not having the BiS gear and topping the DPS charts but in a way it is also kinda refreshing and gives an idea of the game from a casual PoV. I used to have a house and I never decorated it and I got a new one two weeks ago since returning and she’s now fully decorated. I’m gonna work on some random achievements and get my Gil up for the expansion Spoiler Also messing around with mods helps 1

At least 5 of those hours are probably either me sleeping or otherwise being idle because by the end I was ******* bored out of my mind with this game. The story could have been good, idk I stopped paying attention during the cutscenes about 30% of the way thru the game. I can’t believe how much time you spend just running from point A to point B and listening to people cosplay Game of Thrones NONSTOP. Not that the actual gameplay portions are anything to write home about, once I got Shiva I was over messing around with the eikons. The way they ruin the color palette of the whole world when you still have like +20 hours to play. I was horrified. I already bought the DLC so I might come back for the Tides depending on what she is giving but I was so disappointed with this game. Probably the least fun I’ve had with a mainline FF game, and I just played 15 this past summer. anyways, I just started Crisis Core Reunion because I’m insane and think I’ll be able to squeeze it in before my FF7R replay

How do you know if the story was good/bad if you didn’t pay attention to 70% of it ahsjskdiwhns Sorry you didn’t enjoy it I thought the story and characters were great! I only watched my bf play it so idk about the gameplay/combat, but all the side quests looked really boring/tedious.

It seems very stacked right now! But I think a lot of people are going to be pissed if they continue with the 2 minute meta, which they 99% surely will. But none of that really matters to me anyway. Heavensward and Endwalker are the best for me. I'm definitely a bit of a contrarian but the more I think about Shadowbringers, the less I like it

Pretty sured he said something about '' the community needs to come to one mind because they can't have everything at the same time '' or some **** regarding this and previous metas.

Idk, MMO communities are trash and whenever you try to make changes based on critique you are given you are immediately put under fire for ruining the game or whatever... Like people have been moaning about how the devs aren't making new type of content and are playing it safe, but then Endwalker gave us big PvP changes, variant dungeons and island sanctuary, yet people didn't like it and instead were fixated on getting field operations like Eureka and Bozja back instead. Like I'm not saying the new type of content they added was all great (right off the bat) but damn, you can't win with these people Edited January 29 by Album Leak
