Anthinos Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 We definitely need to have an open discussion about Islam but I also want to say that this current wave of hate against our community isn't just because of Islam. Anti-LGBT sentiments and politics are on the rise everywhere. Even here in Germany. And it's not just muslims who push them. I've seen more than enough homophobic and transphobic white straight people. This needs to be a bigger discussion in our community. Younger generations are not going to save us. Here in Europe many of the younger people vote for these far right parties. Not just boomers. I don't know what is happening but it's scary as hell and we are on the path to lose our rights.
JohnCrawford Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 I think the recent 'non-binary' and 'gender fluid' topic really made things worse because I feel these people were kinda ok with the LGB part of the LGBTQAI+ community. The moment countries started calling women 'humans who have periods' etc. everything escalated. Both sides need to sh the f up. Stuff like this also does not help:

Stuff like this also does not help: Religious hatred against the gay community has existed even long before the photo you posted above. It is written in their sacred books thousands of years ago, some have been updated for good, but others remain the same, now the only difference is how many followers of those books are practicing those medieval teachings, especially when you come totally from another cultural background to live within a society that respects diversity and puts human rights above anything else. Because clearly there is one group that is at the top of the lists when it comes to this kind of issues, even when they are in a country with totally different cultural backgrounds, I mean just look at this type of manifestations to see who is leading them the most. I am very fortunate to live in a society that does not tolerate this kind of medieval thinking at all, no matter what religion or ideology it is.
