Sophie is just getting her "first sighting after breakup" photo out of the way. Paps are always thirsty as all hell for that photo.  You have to stage one or they will catch an unflattering one of you when you are unaware. Joe Jonas already gave them a super stage managed one with their kids.

 

She decided to give it to them on her own terms and so show herself happily hanging out with Taylor. They have been friends for a long time and it makes sense for her to show herself with her most famous friend. Taylor has Sophie's friend was happy to oblige. Her own friends did the same for her after the Joe breakup.
