I don’t think a second album is ever coming and she clearly doesn’t want to do it. Just random singles and EPs. Just like with Rihanna, people need to let it go and find other people to listen to if they want more active/consistent music releases. A Cardi/Megan EP and tour sounds fun and will make fans of both artists happy.

Your sophomore album is what solidifies if you've got what it takes or if youre just lightning in a bottle. Any real artist would want to release a 2nd album  (especially after the reception of her first) so her not wanting to says her heart is not really in it.

 

And lets be clear... a joint EP benefits Meg more than Cardi and right now Cardi needs to be focused on herself.

I mean... does it? 

 

IOP was a project held up by the label + writing camps. I'd love another album from her on that level, but I don't see the label investing on that level again today. 

 

Meg obviously doesn't have the same numbers as Cardi, but her fan base + ability to write point towards a much brighter future imo

she said she would be down if cardi wanted to make the songs they are working into a EP. there are no plans just an idea being brought up in an interview and some songs they are about to record for each other. 

 

anyway if it does happen, I'll give it a go. I like their energy together

Literally what happened to Cardi? I understand she has a lot to live up to after the commercial AND critical success of her debut so were Wap and Up the only songs she recorded between 2020-2021 to not have an album ready to go? It's not like she doesn't care about being active in music since she's releasing stuff quite frequently.
