Forbes: Katy worth $340M, confirms (?) $168M Vegas deal

Net worth doesn’t mean how much money she has in her bank account. Forbes is simply assuming that she invested her money and that it grew. It’s all based on estimations, not actual data.

This makes no sense. They had her worth $300M+ already. If she just got $200M+ cash (so probably more like $125M after taxes), she's worth $400M+ now.

There is no way she made that much from Vegas, lol. UNLESS that is counting the entire run of 80+ shows. But even then it's a stretch. The gross has been a literal quarter of that amount.

I'm not really sure what you're referring to (as I do not keep up with Katy closely). but is it possible that $125M was not the box office gross but overall tour revenue? so a total tha includes merch sales, VIP packages, and other deals with the venues she performed at?

I'm highly doubtful Forbes would make up a number or publish it without verifying the stats.

I mean you could be right but it’s still misleading to say the tickets grossed this as most tours the final value isn’t merch etc.

@Squall I believe the article has no retracted the 168m figure. Katy is indeed known for tactics like this to inflate her receipts. Beyoncé gets flack  for this but Katy has been exposed on multiple occasions :toofunny2:

Talking about tactics when you stans for gaga, one of the most fraudulent singer in the world. :skull:

:toofunny2:
Gaga is irrelevant to this thread Torres. However, there’s nothing ‘fraudulent’  about staying busy  in Vegas, pulling 1m+ a per night, and this all whilst LOVING your fans and performing :alexz3:
some Britney stans/OGH need to leave Katy now…  it’s been ten years her receipts didn’t work in bringing Gaga down :giraffe:

OT:

168m is still not confirmed, but Katy is a smart business woman :WAP:

The math is not mathing lmao

Katy's net worth is probably around or more than $500M when you add up everything. She has several side businesses + hustling in real estate as well

The way Britney dupes are truly out of hand. Anyway, no one noticed there's a "update: correction" section at the bottom of the article about the 168M now? Katy's receipts are all a pile of sand that can blow in the wind at moment's notice.

Resorts World Las Vegas isn't paying Katy for what they could make at the venue, but for promoting the new location far away from Center Strip.

There are Las Vegas maps going up to Wynn or Encore.

Like they don't want to show Circus Circus, the Strat,...

Or even less.

They have to offer over-the-top deals to keep Katy, Celine,... out of Caesars Palace and attract people to the Northern part of the Strip where not much people go. They want people to spend money in the casino and hotels.

168 million dollar divided by 80 shows is 2.1 million dollar per show. That was Katy's pre-COVID half an hour private show rate. She convinced them to pay her like it's a private show to promote the new location on the Strip.

It's a good deal for Katy to stay out of the post-COVID scramble for the stages. The large majority of the artists haven't toured for years and had to earn money as quickly as possible. All the venues, travel, suppliers,... are charging over the top prices for lower grade service because of workers shortage and there are more artists looking for something than supply.

Net worth isn't the same thing as income though. And Forbes estimations are usually just that, estimations. While celebrities are wealthy, their true wealth (considering how things such as stock, real estate, and other assets fluctuate over time) is difficult to establish for sure, which is part of the reason why arguing over celebrity wealth is dumb.

it was a Perry stan who originally came up with the 168 figure. Which was then spread by an Adele Stan IG account. The original source for this figure is now a dead account: https://twitter.com/perrymediaa

https://electronic.vegas/news/entertainment/katy-perry-launch-residency-resorts-world/

Perry would need to perform over 300 shows just to cover that cost. Casinos don't throw away money on acts that have the touring reputation of Katy Perry. ‘Private fee’ or not - no vegas Casino would throw away $168m on someone who will struggle to surpass $40m across 80 shows.
