LSA is extremely hateful (homophobic/transphobic), among other things. As a black queer person I have literally been called everything from a "degenerate" to a "bussy bandit", and was told I have AIDS simply for liking men with fat asses as if that will change anything

 

They have more freedom than ATRL however, which can be a gift and a curse. It's pretty much ATRL SYG circa 2010's on steroids. And while I understand certain terms like "zoo" may be considered offensive, for those of us especially within the LGBTQ+ community that are also black... it is a different level of disheartening when you are met with such vitriol, particularly from people of the same skin color. It's not healthy to fight fire with fire but I understand how someone could reach that level of disgust with LSA.

I genuinely prefer having it out with the girls on LSA because the **** talk is mutual. There’s rules but, as you said, it’s a giant SYG most days. Also, the forum is so big, you get everything from LGBT to evangelical Christians to the xes boards. I prefer the conversation overall on LSA too because it’s more grown people talking about a variety of topics. ATRL is predominantly white male gays in their 20s being obnoxious (from my anecdotal observations, that is).
