SmittenCake Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZPR7Rc3sE/ This is so great for fast food workers in CA. I know of plenty of people who work as managers and crew members and can still barley afford to live a life. $20 might not be enough in CA, but it's better than $12 an hour. https://www.kcra.com/article/california-fast-food-workers-minimum-wage-deal/45088093 4

PoisonedIvy Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Those starving artists in LA can make money and food now to sustain their careers!
KFC Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 I'm happy for them but unfortunately this isn't always a good thing. Hopefully they don't have their hours cut as a result

Lana Banana Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 (edited) Isn’t this “allegedly” and for someone who is of certain age and with years at the job? The Netherlands also advertise a supermarket position with an hourly rate like that for everyone but then it’s only for people who are above 21 or something and have worked there for more than 5 years. Like… If you’re over 25/27 you are still getting 12.50 USD per hour unless you have dedicated your life (5 years at least) in one place. Clownism and fake advertising I fear. How about they finally pardon all those student loans and put the money towards education not fast food? Edited September 19, 2023 by Lana Banana

ATRL Moderator Azulito Posted September 19, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted September 19, 2023 This is for all most fast food workers, not just McDonalds. It sounds great but I don't know about this part Quote It does not apply to restaurants that operate a bakery and sell bread as a stand-alone menu item, such as Panera Bread. I would not be surprised to see certain chains offering bread as a menu item in the next few months

LCTV Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Hopefully that makes the food quality better. (I know fast food is horrible) but I mean if they are getting paid **** they tend to work like ****. 1

Bears01 Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Great for workers California stays winning
bad guy Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 $20 an hour but then they'll cut hours so that it really doesn't make any difference in workers' pay or cost the company any money

Paying them $20 is good but it won’t solve the bigger problem. Restaurants will just add more ordering kiosks and cut hours. Edited September 19, 2023 by Sergi91
