Katy Perry Vogue 2013 quote on Russell trending, Daily Mail implies she withheld info

I hope she's doing fine because I can imagine how hard it is seeing your ex-husband being plastered across the press currently. I wonder if this goes to court (which it most likely will) she provides something against Russell; it's her choice at the end of the day.

I don't think she knew....she could just be talking about infidelity or anything else really

Or his addiction, correct, or all of the above. We'll never know, unless she's called as a witness.

idk but having that info and only disclosing it for a 'rainy day' is not the gotcha moment she thought it was.

like if you find out your ex raped someone you go to the ******* police :rip:

I really hope this isn't true, katy doesn't seem like the best person (just personality wise) but she isn't evil or anything like that, she wouldn't hide something so disgusting and abhorrent

There is no way of knowing what she means. She could simply refer to something he did to her in the context of their marriage. These assumptions about what Katy did or didn't know are baseless at this point.

The truth she’s referring to could mean anything. Regardless, she’s not responsible for whatever her ex husband did and even if she later found out -which is unlikely- there wasn’t much she could do.

Your right about it not being katys responsibility now especially if she was in the dark about it

but why do you think it's ok for her to hide it from the police and the public if she knew DURING the marriage? That would be disgusting

Everybody always knew he was an icky person and there's a million ways for that to manifest that she could have wizened up to. Some of you sickos need to get a job.

she has nothing to do with anything Russell has done to those women. the media is just trying to pivot to Katy

and drag her into this. everything about this assumption feels so negative and slimy. :biblio:

whether she knew or not, it wasn’t her story to tell…

hope the women get their justice and russell rots in prison :heart2:

This has nothing to do with her lol. Twitter always finds a way to blame women for something bad happening

If she knew, she only found out after the marriage ended. It’s stated in the interview.

And I don’t think it would be right for the victims to have their stories told by someone else. Not to mention the lawsuits she’d be facing, it’s a serious accusation.

Ehhh I disagree. It’s up to survivors to come forward, especially in high-profile cases like these where the incels of the internet like to dox and threaten anyone who makes a SA claim against anyone. I view her “rainy day” comment to be more about using it as leverage in case of some unforeseen event — like for example if a survivor were to come forward and she wanted to validate them, or for a more selfish but completely understandable reason, if he ever tried to publicly smear her.

Think of it this way, if your best friend came forward and said he/she was raped, you wouldn’t go to the police would you? You’d probably encourage them too, but you wouldn’t take that power away from them. It’s not her place.

Katy is not accountable for the actions of her ten-year past divorced husband, c'mon people.

It could've been about something else, like he was cheating or so like twitter stays being a mess.

So now we blame Katy :rip:

we don't even know what she's referring to

Stop blaming her. What that trash did has nothing to do with Katy.

its literally insane, calling her "disgusting" because she didn't go to the police for the sexual assault and abuse of other women... like are y'all hearing yourselves omfg

not to mention she could be talking about anything
