after all what Poland did (and doing) for them?

So Ukraine should allow its economy to be further drained in order to show that they’re grateful for help? Ukrainians dying to keep the West safe from Russian aggression isn’t enough? Weird take

Like someone said on twitter: "Poland has a duty to protect their own citizens and agricultural industry over protecting the interests of Ukraine."

And, Ukrainians fighting for Ukraine, not for West or Poland or any other country, okay? Stop with this false narrative that is OUR war or something.

Well then punish the Polish middlemen for selling Ukrainian grain for dirt cheap once it leaves Ukrainian borders. Punishing a whole country that’s already in a precarious situation is weird, but with elections coming up, it makes sense that the Polish government needs a scapegoat for problems in the country.

And yes, it actually is a war in defense of the West. If Ukraine falls, you’re foolish to believe the Baltics and Poland wouldn’t be next on the list of countries Russia is targeting.

And by the way, it’s a single man that plans on suing these countries. Not the entire country. This article is literally written to make people turn against supporting Ukraine. Do better :skull:

As an ex-Russian I support this statement :cm:  Eastern Europe should say big thank you to Ukraine AND the NATO alliance. Russian imperialism needs to stop. There is no place for this in today's world ruled by money and not by physical force. I hope this cancer will stop as soon as possible

Because it's cheaper, therefore the local industry would suffer. Supposedly.

Bulgaria also had a ban on Ukrainian grain, though it was lifted literally two days ago. Local farmers and people from the agricultural business are currently protesting and blocking roads with convoys and such. Problem is that since COVID and the start of the war, Bulgaria has suffered one of the highest inflation rates in the EU. Artificially created by supermarkets and food manufacturers. Last year, the wheat industry had a profit of around 9 billion lev (around 4 billion euros) and the people higher up in the business were exposed for having very lavish lives, to say the least. So Bulgaria lifting the ban on importing Ukrainian grain could potentially lower the price of bread.

The reason why those farmers are protesting is political, not a safety concern over the ~dangerous~ grain from Ukraine. Part of me thinks they're indirectly financed by R*ssia, once you have a look at the politicians who are supporting their ludicrous cause.

I don't know if the situation in Poland or Hungary is similar though.

This. Most farming industries are heavily subsidized by their governments too, so it’s a combination of farmers trying to exert power and conservative governments creating artificial problems that they can “solve” right before elections. Poland is dealing with a political crisis in which members of the PiS party that dominate politics there have been discovered selling long term visas to nationals of other countries, despite being “hard on migration.” This is a cute distraction.

Not to mention, most Ukrainian grain is shipped to the global South, not the EU. But with sea passageways unreliable due to the Russian invasion (and Russia purposely leaving the grain deal brokered before), going by rail through the EU is a more reliable (albeit slower) solution. Middlemen selling Ukrainian grain on its way to the Middle East and Africa are just as much at fault for creating this “problem.”

But the language of this news is already doing its job - now Ukrainians are “ungrateful.” Hurry up and give more weapons so we can end this war faster :skull:

Invading Poland literally means 3. World War.

It won’t happen. But Moldova or other small non NATO countries is possible

Once again, the wording of that tweet is meant to frame Ukraine as some ungrateful actor and sow discord. Once again, expecting Ukraine to take an economic hit as a "thank you" for helping out innocent civilians as their country is being bombed incessantly by russia is ridiculous. Bulgaria initially had grain bans too.

Hungary has actively been aiding and abetting the russian regime by blocking EU-wide policy on russia. Slovakia is about to elect a far-right nationalist party with russian ties, and Poland is also dealing with a corruption scandal right around election season. Focusing on grain and demonizing Ukraine is an easy out.

I guess we should be closing military airport in Rzeszow then and see what happens :coffee: All social / humanitarian aid for Ukrainians should be cut as well to pay. The entitlement is insane.

russia invests heavily in propaganda on social media and any other means to sow division and destabilize countries. Their strategy is because of their GDP is small like Italy or Spain and they can't get enough hard power with their military. So they have to trick people into thinking that russia is strong and small countries have to give up working together, can't send too much weapons to Ukraine,...

The best deterrence russia has, isn't their nukes, but the thoughts they could inject between our ears. The only reason why russia hasn't been defeated yet, is because of their propaganda machine injecting FUD in our heads to prevent us from supporting Ukraine with large enough quantities and quickly enough.

For some small domestic political gains Poland, Hungary and Slovakia have convinced Putin that it is worth waiting out the war. It just needs a little bit more time to make all those small countries scatter and russia gets what it wants. For russia only superpowers matter and small countries are like pawns, colonies,... to be used by the big players.
