I mean isn't this an industry standard? Hardly an expose. I don't know how things ended between him and DK but I don't think it's that horrible of a deal to never talk **** publicly about your former label in exchange to your masters. No?

Shannon is that rich and smart? What company does she have?

Vooks - it’s a children’s book streaming service she started with her brother. A lot of different schools subscribe to it.

She has a couple of interviews on YT about it too.

Oh wow thanks for the tea. Honestly she made good business decisions when not signing Diddy's deal then

Oh I just looked it up

Miss Shannon WON :skull:

tbh she was always such a bright light in DK and super underrated, her dancing popped OFF

So did drea. She bagged herself a rich man and married his ass and got tf out of the music industry.

drea, dawn and Shannon took the money. Which makes sense. Dawn stayed cordial with diddy. She is the only one with a music career. She also has the most to gain with streaming from dirty money so I would sign too. Shannon and Aundrea hate the music industry. Shannons now rich now drea married a rich guy. Aundrea hasn’t even been active on social media in damn near a decade so she isn’t going to diss diddy

d woods and Aubrey are the only ones who didn’t sign cause they still have beef with diddy and are trying and failing to stay in the music industry.

This is what I think as well.

For Shannon, I think she took it because she don’t plan on going back to music anyways (given the success of her company).

Drea is done with music as well, she BEEN over it honestly (even during the first reunion)…so she got nothing to lose by signing this agreement.

Aubrey pretty much confirmed that her and D.Woods are the ones who haven't signed the Diddy's deal:

Thanks!  Sounds like it.

I also think she’s suggesting Dawn didn’t know she was going to be on this album?? lol.  But…I mean, is that a bad thing? It’s not like Dawn was going to do anything with those old tracks anyways? Lol

And if this was recorded during Dirty Money era, he would own those records anyways (master recording). :ryan2:  Not sure where Aubrey is going with that specific point.

I wonder why D.Woods didn't take the deal. As far as I know she isn't doing music anymore.

This was quite interesting. The embellishment was there as always, but hearing her talk about some of the old names and seeing where they’ve come (Drake, Omarion, Paris) is cute.

After learning Shannon has her own successful business I Googled all of them... D Woods apparently has found some success post-DK and she's still somewhat in the industry from what it seems

There is definitely something off with Diddy, I feel its only a matter of time till he gets exposed by everyone.

Well if I remember correctly she didn't grew up poor, so for her to get a business wasn't that out of a reach.

Yet, someone told me that it was Danity Kane’s fault they broke up, yet no one ever considered what led them to  get to that point in the first place. Groups don’t just start infighting for no reason.

We all knew something was wrong with Diddy, when Wanita didn't even wait for the elevator and took the STAIRS to leave Bad Boy Records.

She is right in making it public. Now, we all know the showbusiness is from that to worst, let's not act surprised! Still is!

Also, as a rule of thumb, filthy rich people ALWAYS have something shady in the way they make their money. I don't care who, but if u see someone really filthy rich you will find shady borderline criminal or criminal. The whole business world is made for sociopaths to flourish. It is sad to see how many people idealize billionaires.

Yes she has been on many shows and movies, she also was in many musicals, included For Coloured Girls that was nominated for 7 Tony Awards (lost all of them but still). She still doing her thing here and there.

That part was a little fussy to me too. I mean i'm sure Dawn was made aware she would be featured on Diddy's next album, but i think she probably didn't know with which songs since she probably hasn't recorded anything with him recently for his new album, so the two songs she's featured on are probably just old tracks, she just didn't know which ones it would be.

I think she's implying that since D and her have not given their rights away, Diddy cannot use some songs they may have written and recycle them for his future projects like he just did with the one Dirty Money song and the one Dawn's song featured on Diddy's next album.

He has been getting "exposed" his entire career. Nothing is going to happen.

Well, Aubrey did say on the podcast that she knows something is going on behind the scenes with / about Diddy, probably like a big exposé. That's probably why Diddy is taking the first step by trying to rehabilating his image, by giving his artists' publishing rights back, featuring some Bad Boy artists on his new album, and then being given some made up ''Global Award'' at the VMAs.

Stream dumblonde instead.

Aubrey is so smart and tuned in with the corruption in the music industry. I love when she drags Diddy and drops some knowledge on the predatory deals and practices in music.

Also, she's correct that they could all make a lot more money with a show on a streaming platform over streaming royalties :matty:

I can understand her frustration, however nowadays she's a nobody, so I would think about taking that deal tbh

she seems to be doing well financially judging by what she's saying in the interview, ofc she could be lying but why run your mouth instead of just taking the deal if that was the case :toofunny3: it's obvious the issue is that the deal isn't profitable and the NDA she's being required to sign might actually block her from bigger opportunities as she explains thoroughly

Having binge-watched Popstars US and NZ recently on YouTube and reading Belinda Chapple's book recently (from Bardot, winners of Popstars AUS S1), manufactured pop groups were in some pretty terrible contracts so this isn't surprising. I've been a longtime DK fan since the early days, particularly of Aubrey (who I call Messy O'Day) for her mess and pop contributions and Dawn's severely slept-on solo music career.

This podcast interview is a huge improvement from her last one with the ex-Call Her Daddy chick because I think Aubrey could use some humble pie as she was rude a few times to the podcaster. I can see Aubrey setting up her own podcast soon but I'll always hand it to Aubrey, she keeps it real and that's what helps pay her bills along with Only Fans as it's hard to make $$ of the industry when you've past your peak.

Wish she'd continue to do Dumblonde even by herself, that was Aubrey at her peak musically and both efforts were phenomenal because she's a great popstar. She can make the gays gag with her scantily clad outfits, lipped vocals and let her dancers do most of the work whilst she shakes her kitty on a speaker.
