Jay L Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Nicki and the other ladies made me actually watch for the first time in years they'd be smart to continue inviting the rap girls and having them perform more. 1
Feanor Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 The GP is here for Taylor sweeping. This is also a win for pop culture overall, we need awards show to make a comeback. 1
crazyncool Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Wait till they add the latin station numbers. Shakira carried wbk. 2 2
Sergi91 Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 I wonder what the ratings were on Univision
Dula Peep Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 tbh most of us did tune in to see if Nicki would talk sh*t if MTV really did tell her not to do anything they are DUMB, they need a viral moment desperately for this kind of show

On any given night the top 3 watched non-news (cnn, fox news, msnbc) programs on cable only get like 800k to at max 2 million viewers on a good night. So MTV prob was top 5 out of hundreds of cable channels. VMAs now airs on like 13 diff channels so the overall ratings number will be a lot more interesting. I’m genuinely starting to wonder what VMA ratings would look like if they just opened it up to YouTube live. That would give the globe access AND get people off the illegal stream links. Yes, sorry, I didn't mean this was bad at all - I just meant it's wild to think that this has become a good number for MTV. 1

Her performance is going viral. 3.5M views on Youtube, closest performance views are Cardi's and Doja's with 1.1M (Nicki's performances are 737K & 929K respectively). No matter how hard the atrl gays try to downplay her in mense global appeal... She ALWAYS WINS!

Yeah tv is dead. It’s been this way for years now. That number is even good for virtually most channels now. Also MTV has to be extra happy because the actor and writer strike means they need more live reality type shows and events to perform well for ratings. Advertisers will not pay to be placed on Ridiculousness reruns for the rest of 2024. I would not be surprised if MTV brings back TRL or some kind of fake version again. 1
