The story is complete trash. It's the only one of the reboot games I've yet to finish a replay through it. It's so generic, uninteresting, and Lara is too whiney, I can't stand it.

I also find it strange how this game has so much crafting and upgrades for combat and the amount of combat is so small. There's also no good way to just fight enemies for fun. Rise had the zombie DLC which was great. You also had chapter replay for quick bouts of gameplay. Shadow took a major step back in terms of replayability.

I'll still never get over them forcing us to wear a tribal dress to scale a shear rock wall. There were a lot of great things about the game (e.g., modifying the difficulty in terms of platforming, improved tombs), but there are just enough odd things about the game that I cannot finish replaying it ever.

Also, the "Lara loses all her weapons and has to restart from scratch" thing needs to end. Star Wars Jedi Survivor did a good job of building up a new skill tree without making the protagonist reset to where he was at the start of the former game.

One thing that really bothered me gameplay wise was how much stealth sections there are in the game and yet these levels are so badly designed you can almost never go through them without the enemies spotting you. It's like they made these stealth levels but decided it would be better for you to just kill your way through them, which is annoying because I really like stealth gameplay but the game just won't let you get through these levels on pure stealth.

That never crossed my mind :rip: I think TR2013 was the last TR game I viewed concept art for.

Did Rise and Shadow release concept arts? It's weird I don't recall viewing any.

Anyway YES, Lara concept art would be the jackpot, we can be put to rest on what the vision for her facial features/appearance will be.

We can guess the outfit will probably be what we've seen in the unified crossovers, but the rest of her is questionable.

All unified looks so far...

Fall Guys

Tbh she looks beautiful in Magic: The Gathering and Naraka Bladepoint artwork.

Call Of Duty is the most repulsive thing to have ever been.

i can't stand this back and forth with dual pistols/arrow god :rip: just give her the pistols back officially with the bow as an additional optional weapon

Don't forget the axe  This acrobat/gymnast/rock climber/trained fighter needing an axe to scale a wall and bop enemies on the head with. It's so corny.

They should give her the duals back permanently because they are her signature weapon (sans survivor) but we know that ain't happening, just look at all the unified media.

Crystal shoving their new shitty version and trying to make it "iconic". It will never be that.

It made sense with 2013 and Rise but homegirl is out there in the hot tropical jungle packing all that in her back :rip:

Good stealth incentivizes you to use stealth. The survivor TR games just don’t do that. The Rambo approach of going in guns blazing. That’s, honestly, very fun. But there’s not enough difficulty in the game to feel the need to use stealth. The Last of Us Part 2 is a similar-ish type of game to the survivor games where there’s a very obvious reason to employ stealth. The resources (ammo and crafting resources, which are needed for health kits) can be so punishingly scarce (depending on the difficulty) that you are forced to be smart about how you take out a swath of enemies. Stealth is the cheapest in terms of resources by far but you have to be smart about it.

I have never been in a situation where I felt low on ammo in the survivor games. In fact, I only ever felt that with the Core Design games (looking at you TR3 and AOD).

I wouldn’t be opposed to them bringing in a more grounded type of gameplay. But at the same time, I want badass Lara back. I think they missed their moment to have a grounded version of the character with Survivor Lara where stealth is important to the gameplay.

Duel pistols with one long weapon (shotgun, bow, assault rifle, whatever) is all we need. I was sooooo hyped finishing TR2013 where she ends with the dual pistols and then they never show back up. :deadbanana4:

Also, idk about anyone in this thread, but surely I’m not the only massive TR fan who couldn’t care less about the anime show or the new Phoebe Waller Bridger series on Amazon? I just want the games. That’s it. The only good extended media was the Jolie TR movies. Those were great. But other than that I just want the games.

What really sucks is we don't even have any competition atm to keep us busy.

Nathan Drake franchise is over

Indiana Jones will be an FPS

Even Crash Bandicoot is back in the grave

what do TR fans play beyond fan-made levels and the old games? Sims 3 World Adventures?

I really want to replay the LAU trilogy, but I don't have anything to play it on. Was thinking of buying a Steam Deck to play them. :skull:

You are not, the anime is dogshit! and I'm not interested in a live action. Not them getting Lady Sansa from GOT to play Lara :ahh:

Like you say, Jolie movies are the only exception.

I see that they're simply throwing around the TR brand to get some coin, and possible hits. It's not working.

Seems like such a waste when all that budget/effort can go into making the new game.

Do we still think that they're going to go with that god awful leaked storyline for the new TR?

I have a Macbook and a Switch. I've tried playing them on my Macbook, but it starts overheating every time. :skull:

I did like the Alicia Vikander movie even though it was a bit bland. I was sad when they cancelled the sequel due to the license expiring.
