Peroxide Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 If this actually beats Midnights… I honestly think she might be able to challenge Adele’s first week for TS11… I’m not even kidding. She’d need to find a gimmick, but I really think think it’s possible. 2
Tm4074 Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 This is absolutely wild. I'm really looking forward to her debut re-recording and curious how that will perform since it's her least known album (if you can call any of her albums that lol). That's when I first discovered Taylor and curious to hear those songs 15 years later with 2023 Taylor's voice as a pop star. 1
Timeless Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 TS11 is going to debut over 2 million guaranteed. The demand for Taylor Swift is insanity. 6
Blade Runner Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Absolutely insane. No one can do it like her. Man or woman. 2
PoisonedIvy Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 1989 Always stays here somehow. I can’t stand it!! 3
Da Vinci Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 At this point I firmly believe she will only start declining after TS13, this sorceress will make sure of it!

It might become the most streamed album of all time. I’m impressed If the WHAT?

Badgalbriel Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Yeah, it's just not impressive anymore. Eventually she'll be debuting with 2m copies and we will call it a flop lol 2
Bonicap Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 And debut will be the second (sorry, rep)

Cruel Summer Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 19 minutes ago, byzantium said: Out of curiosity, what is the source for this? IFPI is the source for this kind of thing. Here’s a page with some useful visuals: https://www.statista.com/chart/amp/4713/global-recorded-music-industry-revenues/ Edit - here’s a better source that actually includes 1999: https://globalmusicreport.ifpi.org It’s not exactly sales/consumption units, though - it’s overall revenue, purely the money of it, which usually shakes out to be similar to total unit consumption but it isn’t a perfect 1:1 match. It’s clear that streaming has transformed the industry; most big artists are still not seeing the numbers that the biggest artists in the industry were seeing on a yearly basis back in the 90s and early 2000s, but the industry as a whole has recovered in revenues nonetheless, suggesting that the money is less concentrated in a small group of top artists (with one or two notable exceptions) and more spread out. 1
BtDecember Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 1989 is really not going down and let Midnights win without a fight huh! 1989 is truly her biggest album
Just a Gay on ATRL Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 Beyond impressive. The Music Industry.
Haschwalth Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 all of that for a botched rerecording she's too powerful
