Lol a mess, BUT unlike EL DORADO at least she is keeping it fresh production and mixing wise.

I am gonna get dragged by the Shakira fans lmao but why are you waiting for an album? The moment we get the playlist you'll all be mad.

 

I know she promised one but after El Dorado we should've known by now that it's not in her heart anymore to create cohesive or thematic bodies of work. And that's fine, she gave us great albums all her career.

 

This would be her 10th album, it is a little bit unrealistic to expect her to give us the same passion or artistic output she gave us back in the day. Specially for a Latin artist when the life cycle for any artist is very short.

 

I know there are many artists out there still giving conceptual albums or big tours at this point of their careers but also this is Shakira, she is a very different type of artist. She's never gonna do a tour with a Production as grandiose as the Eras or Renaissance tours. She doesn't like that. Expecting something different and not getting it, it's on you not on her.

 

Like I love her so much but I manage my expectations accordingly. I am even expecting fu**ing "Me gusta" and "Clandestino" in the album.

 

I really think that she enjoys making music but it's not her priority, that's why she gives us these singles and then when she has enough she dumps them in an album lmao. She's not hungry for that superstardom, for that highest grossing tour, etc. She just wants to surf around with her kids and she has earned that.

 

I'd rather take what she gives us (the playlist albums, the random collaborations, etc.) than get NOTHING like the Rihanna fans (I am also a Navy and I suffer so much).

 

In any case, intrigued by this but it will probably be my least fave. She looks HOT though.

The smartest thing I’ve read on here by any Shakira fan. This is very true, for all we know Sony had everything ready right after SB for a stadium massive tour major production and it was probably too much for her, which is always the case.
 

this is not the first time, maybe that’s why she goes through so many managers. I remember since

2012 rocnation had the best songs, producers, songwriters for her, shut down just to get self titled. They had massive production (elevated stage) for the tour and we got sale el sol tour, all we got was runway and smoke lmao 

 

I am guilty of this because I’ve been getting my hopes up since SB, but it is clear after the press conference questions in Barranquilla she’s just whatever about things, dodging every question.

When she said she didn't have her heart for music anymore, it was during a time when her boys were young and she was in a relationship. 

 

Now with everything that happened to her these couple of months, this is a perfect time for her to release music. Like for musicians it's a therapy for them and Shakira creates best music when she's angry/hurt. But also when she's really in love, most poetic deep passionate music. The singles she's throwing  is only a taste of what's she's feeling. So with an album she will show us more of that full blossom.

I received an email from Live Nation in 2020 after the Super Bowl about pre-registering for her World Tour.  The fact that she won't even confirm next year sounds like she's actively trying to find a way to avoid touring. 

This is probably why her manager left her to work with Rosalia.

Or if we use common sense her dad has been going through a world of health issues, she's had to relocate her family, and has been dealing with all those court problems so she can't freely travel the world. She probably is trying to stabilize her life first before doing anything.

That's always the main issue

 

Usually her videos have good ideas into them but with mediocre execution (Perro Fiel, Me Gusta, Copa Vacia, Monotonia). And this is SO Jaume, it's basically his identity as a director 

 

Even the ones I actually like (Bici, Chantaje, Felicito) work out because her charisma and chemestry with the collab and his directing is just used to capture this

Jaume hasn’t posted anything about it on Twitter, not even behind the scenes pics. His page is still promoting his “movie” Copa Vacia.

I know we all love albums, and her albums specifically, have always been great, and a mark in pop music. 

BUT, having said that, we should look at things with a different perspective now.
Is it important for you guys that she keeps having some sort of success? If yes...then let her keep doing her thing. 

Once streaming took over, it's really rare for an album to have longevity, and new singles/hits after the album release. Just look around. A lot of artists release an album, and boom, it's the end of the era.

 

I'd rather have her cook the whole thing, one single at a time, releasing videos, and then releasing the album with like 5/6 new songs. Then release the album full of new songs, and none of them being released as a single.
