Of course it isn't. I fail to understand why people on-line make up fictional release dates when it's clear there's no album in sight .

At least we can breath knowing her team won’t be setting her up for failure releasing around Taylor’s date or drake. We practically have an EP

though, so this album must be like 21+ songs :coffee2:

Well, she has said various times the album would be out in 2022 or 2023, so yeah, this is incredibly disappointing and I'm honestly over it. Like it's incredibly disrespectful at this point. Girl, next year it'll be 7 (!!!) years without an album.

I’m not mad at her jumping on the bandwagon of making songs with hotter, newer artists that are currently smashing but it’s just ironic she doesn’t get dragged for it when other artists do.

What I don't get: her album was literally done in May 2022, as confirmed by her.

Why wouldn't she release it (if she released in February this year it would have been easily her best selling album in 13 years) and just keep working on a Volume 2 straight after it if she is still adding new songs?

I'm so mad at this point, honestly.

She does get dragged for this... but it actually works for her unlike some other artists :coffee2:

She always does especially by her own fans. All the damn time. This year alone :skull:

Shakira jokingly addresses the delay of her new album saying it “is like the Sagrada Família church” in new press conference.

The building is the largest unfinished Catholic church in the world. Its construction begun in 1882 in Barcelona, 142 years ago. It’s not completed yet.

She said that “El Jefe” is the 8th single/song from the new album and another one is coming after that :rip::coffee2:

You can hear in the video the fans asking for a date shouting “fecha, fecha” and she said nothing, the only thing is that she keeps working and the next single after El Jefe is one that she’s been working in Los Ángeles this past weeks :rip:

I don't understand the craze for an album. I highly doubt a Shakira album would do all that well even considering her recent smashes post-breakup. I think her releasing tracks at the rate she's doing it is just fine; she's just having fun.

I'm a Shakira fan and I have zero interest in her pushing the last 5+ released songs plus an addition 3-4, calling it an album, and disappearing for the next 5 years. I just rather her release songs throughout the year. At the end, what difference does it make? What would we gain from her releasing an album right now other than giving her more of an excuse to go back into the typical Shakira hibernation szns we all ***** about?

There is one big difference: on the album, she can add less commercial songs more similar to her older material, whereas with the droplets she is always forced to be the hipshaking bop queen and always gets a forced featuring on top.

She released Acrostico, a ballad which did incredibly well considering the Latin American music scene/market nowadays. If she's releasing a Spanish album, it won't succeed if she fills it with rock, ballads, etc.

This is giving collabing with Prince Royce while bachata was somewhat relevant. Wkb she's been a singles artist for a very long time now, her album is just going to be a playlist again :coffee2:

That’s a reach for you to say a Shakira album wouldn’t do well now days. Despite her fan base being so bipolar always criticizing everything she drops they still support her.

you really think Latin pop is going to be reggaeton azz shaking Kali uchis tokischa anuel singing about how long they can go for in bed forever ? There are still real singer/songwriters out there. There are numerous new Luis Miguel’s new laura pausinis out there.

Thing is anybody can be famous nowadays, just gotta have some stupid gimmick and a public behind that will eat everything you release. Shakira is doing what she does best transitioning into each era effortlessly, just like what madonna has been doing all these decades. And clearly the Latin market is all $$$ nowadays. All about collabos streaming and tours

If Shakira calls it quit stops touring and just drops albums here and there a la Ana Gabriel, Gloria Estefan I see her doing just fine.

Yeah, I'm not expecting any album this year :toofunny3:. Knowing her trolling ass, we'll have it only at the 2nd half of 2024 :ninja:

She kept switching things and changing direction post breakup. She did at some point vaguely tease it last year but there was never an official announcement or even an album title given to the public. These fans keep acting as if they are insiders, mostly for attention but they are just as clueless as she is when it comes to her album rollout and it's annoying to witness. Now, according to the super "insiders" it's gonna be two albums , even though there's absolutely nothing that suggests such thing from her part. It's all pure assumption and wishful thinking presented as facts.

She could release the playlist she's working on and give a solo album to her loyal core fanbase afterwards, just to remind them that she's still got it in her. She's so all over the place artistically there's no actual plan for her future projects. It's the  "let's throw things out there and see what sticks" type of strategy she's been doing for the last 5 years.

Obviously, her dad's fragile health and the upcoming trial are major hurdles in the way and must be draining her emotionally.
