Out with the old, in with the new. Gays are shifting more towards average and less defined body types. Plus size and dad bods are all the rave as the muscle type seems to be dwindling out of style. Thoughts ?

It’s not realistic and from my experience they are so consumed by themselves that it’s a massive turn off

 

I do go to the gym all the time but never been obsessed to be ripped, the eating disorders are insane

I've personally always preferred dad bods to muscular ones, but there's plenty of people whose preferences are the opposite. Just because there are people that find a different body time attractive doesn't change the fact that there are other people attracted to your own.

I’ve never understood dating somebody because of their body type. I’ve found all types of bodies attractive as I think somebody having a great personality can make them super attractive, just like them having a horrible personality can make me want to dry heave when I think about them. 
 

It reminds me of when Chris Pratt got in shape for Guardians of the Galaxy and everybody was thirsting over him whereas I thought he was always attractive in Parks & Recreation and that was when he was classed as being ‘fat’ 

 

I think people can be conventionally attractive, but it’s always the personality that makes me actually feel attracted to them. That’s why I could never do a one-night stand or random hookup as I’d have to actually like the person before sleeping with them. 
 

You can be overweight and still attractive and you can have washboard abs and be unattractive. Body type doesn’t = attractiveness to me and never has done.

Roided guys have self image issues. As a consistent gym goer it’s quite annoying. There are many beautiful natural bodies and they are looked down by these people because they have issues regarding the standards they set for themselves. They can’t make sense of people they consider below themselves and the “work” (juice) they put in their physiques being considered as attractive or in the same level as themselves. It’s a weird mentality and it’s little talked about

Yeah I try to keep an open mind, but whenever I’m around a group of muscle gays they come off as vapid and anyone without roid muscle is invisible to them.

Its strange cause I tend to ignore muscle guys in dating apps even if they hit on me. I feel like I can't compete with them or need to be on the same level with them.

A lot of these muscle gays pursued the shredded roidmonkey body type to masculinize themselves after being bullied for being lanky or having a lispy, high-pitched voice. Ironically, nothing is more masculine than a strong body that is well-fueled for physical labor. That's why dad bods have always been more attractive and masculine to me. Vanity is a very feminine and unbecoming trait.
