Biden reprimanded Hillary for coordinating the evacuation of Afghan women in 2021

Atlantic staff writer Franklin Foer’s “The Last Politician: Inside Joe Biden’s White House and the Struggle for America’s Future” outlined that during the August 2021 withdrawal, Clinton had a “Kill List” of women in Afghanistan who could be targets of the Taliban once the United States left the country.

They were called “white scarves,” Foer writes, because they were told by Clinton’s team to wear white scarves so they were identifiable.

The former secretary called the emir of Qatar to ask him to accompany buses carrying the women through Taliban checkpoints, according to Foer, and she called Zelensky’s office to provide military transport from the airport.

“Clinton called an aide to Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, asking if she could board refugees on a military transport plane destined for Kyiv. Her efforts earned her a reprimand,” Foer wrote.

“‘What are you doing calling the Ukrainian government,’ Jake Sullivan asked her,” Foer wrote, referring to President Biden’s national security adviser.

“‘Well,’ she responded. ‘I wouldn’t have to call, if you guys would,'” Foer wrote.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her allies went to incredible lengths to get vulnerable women out of Afghanistan during the chaotic final days of America's longest war, going so far as to use a QR code from a bag of chips to make a foreign visa look more official, according to a new book.

Despite her connections, Clinton was unable to get the support she needed from the federal government, which was already overwhelmed with making sure every US citizen and those with other official documents could get out in time, according to the book, which chronicles the saga over multiple chapters.

Clinton, Foer wrote, frantically called world leaders in a bid to arrange a final place where vulnerable women could resettle and get the support they needed to make sure the women reached their destination. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau quickly agreed.

Biden's national security advisor Jake Sullivan, a former Clinton aide, reportedly reprimanded her after she called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to seek additional support. Clinton was unrepentant.

"'What are you doing calling the Ukrainian government?' Jake Sullivan asked her," Foer wrote. "'Well, she responded, 'I wouldn't have to call if you guys would.'"

Out of a list of 1,500 names, Clinton and her allies asked 60 women to begin traveling to the network of safe houses they arranged in Kabul to help them reach Hamid Karzai International Airport. To make sure they got through, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin had told Clinton that the women needed to wear something that would make it easy for them to stand out of the crowd of people desperate to get on one of the final planes. They settled on white scarves. Their first attempt failed.

After the failure, Clinton's aides organized a series of buses for the women on her list. They would also be escorted by Qataris, who would ensure the buses would pass through into the airport without any issue. But the Taliban, who were effectively responsible for most of the airport's security, suddenly boarded a bus. They demanded that the women have Albanian visas. (Clinton had negotiated for the women to live in temporary housing in Albania before they left for Canada.)

A staff member for Vital Voices, one of the nonprofits in Clinton's network, was able to create electronic visas to send to the women's phones. Albanian officials, Foer wrote, wanted to make the digital document look more official. Incredibly, they chose a very low-tech solution.

"The Albanians felt that a QR code would make the email look more official," Foer wrote. "Since there was a bag of potato chips sitting around, they took a photo of the QR code on the side of the packaging and appended it to the improved visa." The Taliban later OKed the visas. The women were able to board their chartered flight.

"The women on the bus escaped to Albania — and so did more than a thousand other Afghan women and their families Hillary Clinton and her groups managed to rescue," Foer wrote.

Representatives for Sullivan and Clinton did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.

Please, hundreds of thousands of brown women have suffered because of her actions as SoS. I am not falling for her performative feminism

To think she could've been our POTUS. America truly didn't deserve her. For her, as a private citizen, to go out of her way to use her power in this way is admirable.

What is the point of coming out with this now? Are Dems slowly twisting the knife in Biden now?

Something tells me that Hillary will go after the presidency again in 2024

I don't think she would dare unless Biden has a health issue and drops out. I can't see that happening though. She was already quoted saying she didn't think Kamala had the "political instinct to win a primary." So if Kamala were the front runner for 2024, I think she'd jump in, but we're locked in for Biden vs. Trump Part 2.

Hillary Clinton is the greatest humanitarian of our time and all of her work goes unacknowledged because of sexism and conspiracy theories.

Our time's Eleanor Roosevelt.

Oh Biden's internal polls must be awful if this vulture of a ghoul is planting stories in the media that directly make him look bad.

The Clinton’s are still one of the most powerful political dynasties, even though none of them have held a political position since 2013.

Obama’s 2008 campaign must of been incredible to go up against her as an unknown underdog and win

All he had to do was win over some white people in Iowa for black voters in South Carolina to give him a chance. They were originally leaning towards Clinton because they weren't sure a black man could gain sufficient approval from white voters to win in a general election.

Clinton being an elitist snob didn't endear her in either 2008 or 2016, which is why she is and will always remain a loser.

This looks bad on Biden. Why is a private citizen helping these women (which is a good thing)? I’m glad other countries were able to help them as well.

The short answer is he legally couldn't do anything without Congressional approval, and without a supermajority in the Senate, getting fast tracked approval for visas and asylum status is a dead end when Republicans don't support either of those things, especially for brown people from the countries that we've raped and pillaged for decades.

Private citizens who are obscenely wealthy like the Clintons have no such limitations.

She got more votes than Obama in 2008 and Trump in 2016.

That's not how elections, beloved.

The point with Obama is also nonsensical because populations grow. Wanna know who got more votes than her in 2016? Trump in 2020.
