Achilles. Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 I’ve become obsessed with this whole album. Already in my top 5 most played Cher albums, and top 50 overall for the year. The original songs are all such instant classics. Obsessed with DJ, love Angels. I Like Christmas feels like a song that’s such a staple it’s been covered by a hundred artists. The chorus of PALHIYH is so uplifting-holiday-anthem, but Cyndi Lauper wailing about the man on the corner “who doesn’t have a name” takes me OUT every single time. Home is still that song tho 3
ImpressMeMuch Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Please Come Home for Christmas is such a good cover. Hearing her voice still this strong makes me sad we have been 10 years without original material before this!!
Achilles. Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 (edited) DJ made it into my top 10 most played Cher songs this morning. Her top 10 now has songs from the 20s, 10s, 00s, 90s, and 80s, tying her with Kylie for most consecutive decades represented in their top 10s. But Cher also has the 70s (#13 Dark Lady) and the 60s (#18 Bang Bang) in her top 20. Her eternal relevance would be unparalleled, if not for Dolly Parton. Two queens etc etc. Wonder what trick she has up her sleeve for the 2030s. Edited December 20, 2023 by Achilles.

Achilles. Posted December 25, 2023 Posted December 25, 2023 Just hit 3000 lifetime plays for Cher, with Christmas becoming my #3 album and DJPACS already my #5 song. I’m so obsessed. 2
