A LOT of things in Britney World go weird after the c-ship but this performance especially was odd... iirc Ashton and his wife were laughing at her or smirking when it ended. It was just weird all around... I think lipping her songs didn't seem weird in the 90s and early 2000s but it just doesn't come across as well nowadays.

Because it was weak and awkward. Literally everyone sang that night with their mics on while performing choreo. Ariana killed it. Rihanna killed it. Pink killed it. Celine killed it. Fifth Harmony killed it. Megan Trainor killed it. Even Demi slayed. Weird how everyone on ATRL says every pop star was influenced by Britney when they were all on that stage doing Christina Aguilera live vocal runs.

That's a pretty clueless thing to say, I'm sorry but Xtina isn't really making waves since like 2006, and Britney's influence is backed by loads of proof. You don't even have to be her fan to see it.

 

I don't know why people say The Weeknd wasn't impressed. He clearly took lots of inspiration from this performance to his The Idol show, from choreography, hot men to the outfit.
