Just a Gay on ATRL Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 I hope he died knowing the band's songs were beloved and a fond memory of any millennial/Gen Z's childhoods. Rest in peace. 3
Ruschi Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 If I remember correctly during the pandemic he mocked about coronavirus AND did a n*zi salute at the band's last concert. Good riddance!

Good riddance! Is this really the time Not that these actions are okay, but he was pushed into alcoholism after losing his baby at 6 months old. He was heavily depressed and almost always inebriated. Maybe wait 5 minutes before getting on your high horse. 8 5
princedonte Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 RIP I loved their music as a kid in the late 90’s All Star was played out in my P.E. class.
Vermillion Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 I remember their peak when I was little during the ska-punk days in Southern California and TRL and feeling really confused when he went political. A lot of alcoholics aren't bigoted though so I don't buy a lot of the defense around him but I still found his downfall really disturbing. The whole thing's sad but I won't be dwelling on it like a lot of other 90's icons I miss. 1
BlossomSoul Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 So so sad. He truly made iconic songs that will stand the test of time
MusicLoverDude Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 RIP Thank you for making us all feel like all stars.

Good riddance! Compassion goes a lot further than ignorance and hate. I don't give two sh*ts about Smash Mouth but the man lost his child at only 6 months and never recovered from the pain. Addiction and mental health are not something to condemn someone for, and frankly your knee jerk reaction says more about you than this guy's struggle. 4
