Big Bad Wolf Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 The IRS is so wrong for this. Why are they trying Bey?

naval23 Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 Damn so she must've made a LOT last year - queen of making bank
mrpartyrocker Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 I will never understand why these celebrities are refusing to pay the taxes they have to pay. I mean giving a few million in taxes compared to the hundreds of millions you have in your bank account, is like pocket change. why so greedy lol 1
Johnny Jacobs Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 The way this sum could set someone up for life. Those numbers are ridiculous
Worm Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 7 hours ago, SmittenCake said: why such a small amount? We’re not told the total figure for the amount of tax paid that year - just the disputed amount/the underpayment (+ penalty fees). So, for example, Bey’s accountant could have worked out that she owes $25 million in taxes for 2019 and submitted that to the IRS. The IRS could have come back and refused to allow certain deductions, saying that she owes $26 million instead. Beyonce pays the $25 million they both agree on, but withholds the $1 million in dispute - and now in 2023, the IRS is trying to sue her for the underpayment of $1 million plus penalty fees for unreasonably withholding that money. (The $25 million figure is made up. The actual figure could be anything, we have no way of knowing from the info in the article)
slw84 Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 I'm sure she'll find most of it in between her couch cushion
family.guy123 Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 This is very common and happens to normal people all the time. Beyoncé is a normal person.

The dispute was based on the amount that she “has to pay” in the first place. Now that that has been decided, I’m sure Beyoncé will be paying her tax bill no problem. Would you willingly hand over more cash than you needed to your government? Especially one like America’s? America has a a problem.
