Not every new pop girly in their sophomore era can do stuff like that! 6

Illuminati Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 That was a pretty brutal thing to ask, putting her on the spot like that AND quoting the lyrics

Billie didn't have any #1s in the UK during WWAF... not like she needed it.

Shunning away HTE’s floppage and not wanting to compare it with GUTS so now WWAFA is her sophomore. Oh it was bad for her.

Kyoto Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 And why is a Katy Perry stan talking about floppage? 1 1
loliza Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 In all this the thing i don't get is why swifties think they can drag other users in base of what they stan. Like in the first page - i haven't read the others because it got annoying too much- the criticizm ain't about olivia pr defending taylor (i mean they don't have an argument maybe?) but it's all about katy perry and how her stans don't have any right to speak up since she's a flop now (i mean, worth more than all of us combined but a flop compared to taylor i guess). I don't really get it, but maybe this is the best demostration of people living their faves achievements as their own. On topic, if the 50% is true it is definitly a theft but that's how the world works: the bigger shark eats the small one.
SimpleKindofLife Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 I refuse to believe that Paramore or Taylor specifically sought out credits but their lawyers and publishers definitely saw similarities and applied the pressure to Olivia’s team which left her in a hard place. If she were to deny the royalty share she probably would’ve been taken to court which is scary for someone just starting. I’d be pissed if I were her and I hope more of the lyrics on GUTS address that. 2

Is there written somewhere that you can't talk about floppage if your fave popstar ain't a big star anymore? I'm especially struck by this childish way of reasoning, by people unable to support a discussion that goes beyond the arguments of a 5-year-old. even the latter just say my father is stronger than yours, but at least they are cute and make you laugh. A pathetic attitude instead if carried on by 20 year olds. 20 1
KMO Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 (edited) She’s letting this narrative run just how Taylor does with her songs — refusing to admit who they’re about. It’s very normal tbh idk why this is news. Name one time Taylor has admitted which ex/someone she doesn’t like inspired a song. The closest we have is Style very obviously being about Harry since it’s so on the nose. Edited September 2, 2023 by KMO 1 1

You’re a young successful popstar, I’m sure some things are challenging but why are you whining so much about everything? You can quit if you’re not having fun. Her and Billie definitely need to vacation or find better boyfriends because they both come off incessantly miserable which is ironic given they’re the biggest Gen Z girls. I really miss when pop girls liked to have fun and showed it in their music

Young Volcanoes Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 i find it highly hypocritical that taylor and jack demanded credit considering cruel summer is a rip off of a kpop song 4

Some of you all desperately need to learn PR language. Of course she isn't going to come right out and emphatically say "no no no it's not about my goddess Taylor Swift" because that could and would be misconstrued and turned into something else. She's perfectly succinct in saying she doesn't want to go into the topic of who songs are about, but in that last line confirmed that she was surprised to find out people thought it was about Taylor which pretty openly says that it isn't. 5
